Bio and Links
Bio Photo I am a fifth generation Californian and San Josean. On my mother's side I am the descendant of Mexican and Chilean miners who came to work in the New Almaden quicksilver mine outside of San Jose, CA. I do extensive research tracing the families of the early New Almaden miners.

Through my paternal Grandmother, I am a descendant of Anthony Gholson, who came to America with his brother from Wales in 1680. My branch of the Gholsons were early settlers of Texas.

Stockton State Hospital Burials
Thank you for your kind words!

I sure didn't start out to cover the first four volumes when I discovered the sad truth of the later disregard of the patient's gravesites. From reading several articles about the Stockton Asylum, it appears that Stockton was probably one of the better ones of that era. Patient's were decently, properly, and respectfully prepared for burial on the hospital grounds. It seems it was in the early to mid 1900's that the burial sites were wanted for building and/or landscaping purposes. I'm still not clear on just what was done but evidently the graves are now under buildings and water features.

Again, thank you. Your contact is appreciated.

Dona Larios
Hi -- Thank you for taking time to send information for her memorial. I too am a descendant of the Larios family, my grandmother was 1/2 Spanish. I have lived in the area my entire life. It's wonderful to hear from you. I just haven't had time to do the entire family, they had so many children!

RE: Pauline Woodruff
Hi-

Pauline is my grandmothers mother. She died when my grandmother was quite young (2-3). It took me awhile to find her because my grandmother has no family history- she was sent to an orphanage. Im just getting started on my genealogical search. I saw a death notice for Pauline and Grace is listed as one of her children. About the only thing Ive seen that lists her in any relation to Pauline.

I understand her grave isnt marked?
