I am an avid genealogist and have been researching my family and my husband's family for 35+ years. We have traveled quite a bit to find ways around my "brick walls" and have been to lots of cemeteries and taken lots of pictures. I'm glad to have a chance to share some of this information on Find A Grave. My husband, Jim, deserves credit for all of the pictures as he patiently visits cemetery after cemetery with me.|
PLEASE if you find an error or have additional information on any of the people I have posted, email me or suggest an edit. I will be glad to make additions and corrections so that the information is as accurate as possible.
I am doing Find A Grave work to honor our ancestors and, hopefully, to help others find information on their own ancestors. I found this message on Beverly Sprowl Teibel's contribtor page, and it expresses my sentiments as well. "Find A Grave gives a voice to those who are not in the history books or the sports records. It lets us put our family, our true heroes who make us what we are and to an extent what we will become in the future, out there for the world to see and honor."
The pictures that we have taken may be used by families and descendants. However, pictures taken for 19th and 20th Indiana soldiers have been taken for the 19th Indiana web site of Phil Harris and may NOT be posted on other web sites without my permission.
Thanks to all of you who have posted information and photos on Find A Grave and to those who process the edits. This is a great way to preserve information, and in doing so, preserve our past.
I found this letter in the bio of Bobby Jett and had to add it to my bio as well. Genealogists do indeed feel this connection.
Your tombstone stands among the rest;
Neglected and alone.
The name and date are chiseled out
On polished, marbled stone.
It reaches out to all who care
It is too late to mourn.
You did not know that I exist
You died and I was born.
Yet each of us are cells of you
In flesh, in blood, in bone.
Our blood contracts and beats a pulse
Entirely not our own.
Dear Ancestor, the place you filled
One hundred years ago
Spreads out among the ones you left
Who would have loved you so.
I wonder if you lived and loved,
I wonder if you knew
That someday I would find this spot,
And come to visit you.

Mary was my great grandmother on my fathers' side. I went to school with some Petersons in Caney. Do you know if they are related?
|Bethany Figueroa||RE: Little Family|
I think that is it, I have a few more to post but not Little. I was told there are headstones that are broken, worn and missing too especially if they are older. That's the car for the person I was originally looking for. I do have pics for other cemeteries and will check those.

Can you please tell me where you found her maiden name? I'm having a hard time finding that info to verify. Please respond to my message board. Thank you!

Thank you so much for photographing this grave stone. Glen was a very wonderful cousin that was confined to a wheel chair most of his life but never made you feel sorry for him. A truly wonderful man. Thank you again. Barbara Taylodr
Thanks so much for taking a photo of Irma's gravestone for me.
