Life should not be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty and well preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside in a cloud of smoke, thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and loudly proclaiming WOW! What A RIDE!! Dr. Hunter S. Thompson|
A HUGE thank you to folks who provide information to verify the "edits" they send.
I am currently working on recording Beechmount Cemetery, Edmonton. It is a work in progress and will take quite a while to complete. Please be patient.
I do have photos of most all of the markers that I have transcribed from Canadian Cemeteries. So please ask.
To request a transfer or edit information please use the EDIT tab at the top right of the person's page, check the drop down menu for options. Please include sources (documentation) when requesting Edits. DO NOT USE THE PUBLIC MESSAGE BOARD TO MAKE REQUESTS.
Please remember to include the memorial page number and your membership number when asking for information about an entry I have made. It makes it sooooo much easier for me to find the person you are asking about.
If you would like me to remove a memorial please let me know and I shall remove it right away - no questions asked.
Because of the few RUDE people demanding I transfer pages to them, I shall no longer make transfers unless you are polite AND can explain to me how the person is related to you.
However, as FaGer Scott wrote :- If there is any particular entry that I have made that is very important to you, related or not, if you sponsor their page I will transfer it to you ASAP. This helps Find a Grave and shows me that this entry truly is important to you and that you are not simply trying to 'collect' all you can find of a particular surname.
Should you find that I have inadvertently duplicated an entry or photo please let me know, I will remedy the situation as soon as possible.
Found on another members profile:-
If you add a headstone photo to a memorial that is SIGNIFICANTLY BETTER than mine (FAG rules), please let me know so I can delete mine. Note: FAG advises "close-ups of portions of the headstone are not necessary if the information is clearly visible in the main photo.
Please be respectful to families and allow them to have the funeral before you post information about the deceased.
Having Lyme Disease I need less stress in my life and need "gentle exercise" I find taking photos for Find A Grave gets me the fresh air, exercise and the tranquility I need in the summer months and uploading the information exercises my mind in winter. how are you ?
I've just taken over the management of the memorial to one,
able seaman Charles Joseph Parkes who is buried in France,
I will be visiting his grave in 3 weeks ,
I have notified the relevant people that the image of his plaque with the dark background,
is from eBay ,
this I know as I own that plaque myself,
I've asked them to remove it ,
as I've replaced it with an image I took,
I hope you are well,
all the best

Already done! I also added a close-up of your photo so the inscription's easier to read.
Hi Alison: The newer photo was apparently taken from another site, so I'd rather keep the earlier memorial and give credit where it's due.

She was my aunt, so I'd be happy to accept the transfer. Thank you for offering.

Yesterday I filled a photo request, and when I viewed the memorial I found that you had provided a photo previously. In your bio you have asked that you be contacted to delete a photo if a better photo has been provided. Please review and decide if you agree that my photo is easier to read. If you do not agree, please advise and I will remove my photo.

Sorry for the duplicate and in the future I will be checking the memorial prior to uploading a photo request.

I am so glad that you are like I am. I have helped many people and have received little back. So when I do I am in shock! Thank you for all your help!!
But thank you is just not enough to say

Thanks... I understand your concerns about accuracy.

I am most comfortable with the old site, but have dabbled in the new one in the expectation the old one will at some point be terminated. I note that I can read what I sent to you by looking at your page on the old site, but cannot yet figure out how to see what I sent to you on the new site.
Interesting comment you have on photos. I have seen photos duplicate, occasionally, when uploaded by cel phone, recently. It is the malicious nature of inanimate things.
