Bio and Links
Bio Photo I've been trying to put my family tree together for years now and in the process have located most of my families grave sites. I am now working on my wifes family tree (Wheelwright/Browning) which seems to be a whole lot larger than my own.

Droz - Munson
Hello D. Scott,

Referring to your entries below, many of which could be linked to one another and completed, as follows :

https://www.findagrave.com/cgi-bin/fg.cgi?page=gr&GRid=20708180

It might be interesting to add in the comments that Roy Droz real (full) surname was HUMBERT-DROZ, son of Robert HUMBERT-DROZ (https://www.findagrave.com/cgi-bin/fg.cgi?page=gr&GRid=23240569) and Olga Louise née DESCOMBES (https://www.findagrave.com/cgi-bin/fg.cgi?page=gr&GRid=23240538)

And perhaps these two articles :

ttps://archive.org/stream/The_Times_News_Idaho_Newspaper_1970_04_27/The_Times_News_Idaho_Newspaper_1970_04_27_djvu.txt

Roy H. Droz, 64, died Saturday of injuries received in an auto accident near Rupert

Dwight Robert Humbert-Droz

of Poulsbo

Dec. 29, 1912 to July 12, 2009

Dwight Robert Humbert Droz, noted Scandia author, passed away at his home on July 12, 2009.

Dwight was born on December 29, 1912, in Centralia, Kansas, to Robert and Olga Humbert-Droz. His family traveled by covered wagon to a homestead in Declo, Idaho, which — along with Scandia — served as the setting for many of Dwight’s books. He graduated from the University of Idaho in 1933.

Dwight married Edith Pauline Schwartz in 1939; they had three children: Miriam Droz Amos (deceased), Deanna Droz Thome, and Dennis Robert Droz. The family moved to the Puget Sound area in 1942, where Dwight served in the Washington State Employment Security Department until he retired in the 1970s. Then Dwight began to fulfill his dream of becoming a gentleman farmer, operating Scandia Patch for over 30 years where many area children made happy memories visiting Mr. Droz’ pumpkin patch.

Dwight is also survived by his dear sister, Dora Droz, of Topanga Canyon, California, and by 12 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren, and 6 great-great-grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, July 15, 1 p.m., at Breidablick Baptist Church in Poulsbo.

A mother son of Robert HUMBERT-DROZ is Luke HUMBERT-DROZ (no dates) whose wife died and could perhaps be linked : https://www.findagrave.com/cgi-bin/fg.cgi?page=gr&GRid=22505151

---

As a side, Robert HUMBERT-DROZ (https://www.findagrave.com/cgi-bin/fg.cgi?page=gr&GRid=23240569) was born in LIGNIERES, Switzerland, came to America, purchased a farm and returned to his homeland to marry on 26 SEP 1902 in LIGNIERES, Switzerland Olga Louise née DESCOMBES who was also born in LIGNIERES ... and went back to Idaho with her.

As you wish anyway,

Best regards,

I believe that this name should be Cyril M. Peters. I could be wrong but the dates line up with a Cyril Peters in my family genealogy. So sorry if I am wrong.

Thanks, Laurie

At the Idaho History Library today I read in the 26 Apr 1918 issue of the Burley Bulletin the obituary of Mrs. Hiatt. It states that she died in Long Beach, CA on 23 Apr. This is not the same as on the memorial. If you would like a scan of the obituary from the microfilm, I could get it to you - send me your e-mail if so.

Thanks so much for the transfer, and you were correct with her middle name 'Mae' instead of what I had seen in articles with 'Mary' as her middle name. You're appreciated. Rose Jensen

No one knows why the headstone says Mabel as it is incorrect according to the family.
Thank you for all your work. I appreciate all you have done for my families. I just recently got the internet so was unaware of Find A Grave.
