Bio and Links
Bio Photo I love this site so I can enhance my ancestors memorials. It is a tribute to those who have passed on before us, gives relatives a chance to see their family member's headstones and information gathered on the memorial, and help with family research.

To request a memorial to be transferred to you, the only way is to go to the "Edit" tab in the upper right of the memorial, go to "Suggest Any Other Correction or Addition" - put in your relationship to the memorial, and your memorial #. It must be done through the "edit" tab only, to insure that the correct memorial is transferred to the correct contributor. I will most likely transfer if a close relative - which must be given in the "edit" tab.

PLEASE to not post birth or marriage certificates or obituaries NOR put in the flower tab any information about the deceased. Send me in the "edit" tab to put this in the "Bio" section. I do not link to parents who are in a burial that are not known.

Thank you for all that have contributed to the memorials which are in my charge. And thanks to the ones that take pictures for me.

I will not transfer if they are apart of my own family or friends. Some of the lines I am researching are Masters, Chamblee, Keith, Kay, Hoffman, Veitch, Harding, Randolph, Isham, Totherow, Whitworth, Cartright, Murray, Magnusson, Bird, Stapley, Bliss, Pomeroy, Cunningham, Roth, Harding, Quinlan, Barrows, Norris, Totten, Jordan, Stumpf and Hannum.

Because of the passing of contributor's Kathy McConnell and ancestorsatrest, I have been given a good portion of their memorials to take care of.

Elaine Berger has transferred the Mt. Pleasant City Cemetery memorials for me to take care of.

Call Family
Good afternoon. I wanted to let you know that the photos for records 73592329 and 30 are incorrect. They are for the Allen family instead of the Call family. The correct photo was uploaded for Byron Call (73592328). Would you mind uploading it to those two records as well?

Thanks,
Jim

RE: Dalrymple Cemetery
I would too, unfortunately I live in Michigan. From what I understand the cemetery is owned by local Dalrymples. Not sure which ones. Maybe the ones without lawnmowers.

Re: Adelbert L. Hannum (1844-1863)

I have found someone who will photograph the tombstone for us, but he needs the location of the grave.

As I mentioned before, I searched:
The Nationwide Gravesite Locator at
http://gravelocator.cem.va.gov/index.html
and came up with zilch, even though I tried several different searches, spelling the name different ways.

Does the book about the Hannum family give the location of the grave, other than Chattanooga National Cemetery?

Re: Adelbert L. Hannum (1844-1863)

I live in Virginia - not anywhere near the cemetery. I think I will write the cemetery (or e-mail if I can find an address) to find out what is on his tombstone. I will also ask for the source of the information.

I would submit a photo request but cannot figure out where to do that, even though there is a list of 183 unfulfilled photo requests!

I searched:
The Nationwide Gravesite Locator at
http://gravelocator.cem.va.gov/index.html
and came up with zilch, even though I tried several different searches, spelling the name different ways.

Information on that website about "If you cannot locate the person you are searching for," gives a list of required information which must be mailed to the US Dept.of Veterans Affairs and it takes about 4 weeks before a reply is received!

It's possible he was wounded and didn't die until 26 Dec 1863, but that would mean the report of the Adjutant General is incorrect.

I'll see what I can find out, and I'll let you know. You would think other sources of information would help. I subscribe to Fold3 and found his records - very meager.

By the way, I am researching the Hannum family for a friend. Hannum is only one of her ancestral lines, but they are a really interesting family!

Adelbert L. Hannum's Find A Grave record shows that he died Dec. 26, 1863, Chattanooga, Hamilton County, Tennessee, USA

According to the Report of the Adjutant General of the State of Illinois, Vol. 5, p. 644, Adelbert L. Hannum died on 25 November 1863 at the Battle of Missionary Ridge, Chattanooga, Hamilton County, Tennessee.

Here is a link to that page, listing "Adalbert Haunum" from Putnam County, Illinois, in Co. B, 104th Regiment Illinois Infantry:
http://www.archive.org/stream/reportofadjutant05illi1#page/644/mode/1up

If you would like me to send you a .jpg file of that page, I'll be glad to do so.

I wonder if the Chattanooga National Cemetery has the incorrect date of death on his tombstone. Guess I could pursue this further. What do you think?

No I do not have it already, still looking, but am pretty convinced that she could be it as another researcher whose direct line is this Joshua Young is showing good matches with Goslin and Masters.

I found her will on Ancestry.com. it was in Stokes County, NC. mentions only a son John i think and 2-4 daughters, Mary being one. There is not any administration papers, only the will. She left items to several, at least no kin given first, then it seems the children mentioned were not receiving much. I can get you a copy of the will, if you will send your email address. Mine is on my profile page.

I see where you mentioned you are a descendant of hers. Have you worked on any of the daughters mentioned in her will?
I am interested in the daughter Mary who married a Young and they lived in Stokes County, NC. I know some of the info I have been given on the Youngs is from the Moravian records. The one I know about ,that she may have married would be Joshua, the son of Benjamin Young and Zipporah Gist. I know Joshua had a daughter Sarah b. 1788 I think and a son William, not born until 1795 (about) I am writing off the top of my head, not having my genealogy program open. I have more information on Joshua and these 2 children, just not sure who his 1st wife was and apparently he was married a 2nd time as in 1825 he had 2 young daughters.
