I have been an avid genealogist in Perry Co. for over 35 years. I have researched my family in Letcher, Perry, Breathitt, Magoffin, Morgan, Leslie, Clay, Lee and Owsley counties. I have research on the Campbell, Couch, Dixon, Combs, Cornett, Feltner, Williams, Whitely, Haney, Gullet and others that came into my family as I researched. I became a member of FAG while trying to find my grandfather's lost grave in Magoffin Co. My husband and I started taking pictures of the cemeteries in Perry Co. to help people find their lost loved ones. We are attempting to photograph the cemeteries in Perry county. I will do transfers within the four Generation FAG guideline that include: Spouses, Parents, Brothers and Sisters, Children, Grand-children, Grandparents and great grandparents. Sorry, no transfers to aunts, uncles or cousins. PLEASE DO NOT ASK FOR TRANSFERS NOT IN YOUR DIRECT LINE. I try to be accommodating but I will not tolerate rudeness. If any of my memorials need to be edited, please contact me using the edit button. Also I will try to help if you are having trouble research your family members. Thanks|

|Michael Coleman||RE: Martin Fugate and Zacharih Fugate|
I found them in what my family calls the Man Fugate cemetery. It is in Ary along Balls Fork. You turn off onto Mandy Lane, cross the creek, and turn left and then right when the drive splits. There are two cemeteries up there. The Man Fugate cemetery is the one that you drive right up to. The other one will be to the left of the drive up but you have to walk over to it. I don't know what people call that one. There is a relatively new log home right there. Ronnie Fugate lives there and he knows a lot about those in the cemetery. He is probably kin but I have not figured out how, yet.... He is very nice though. Both Martin and Zachariah are in the Man Fugate Cemetery.
There is also a cemetery on the other side of Balls Fork Road that I never noticed until Ronnie told me about it. It is raised up higher than the road so unless you know to look for it you don't really see it.
I hope this all helps. I will be down in Dwarf from the 17th of this month until the end. Email me if you would like to meet and compare family histories. I am sure we are probably kin too! I have Fugate and Combs in me.

Thanks for all of your work on FindAGrave. I am messaging you regarding the picture of Ira Combs you posted. It looks like it is from a book. If it is, what book it is in?
|memento mori||Re: Lloyd York|
No Problem. I appreciate any help in making sure the FindAGrave data is as accurate as possible.
|Elsie Smith||Fugates, Combs and Ritchies|
I found your memorial of J.D. Fugate. My mom used to know his dad Dewitt Fugate. His mom Dora Ritchie is related somehow to my grandmother Parrott (Ritchie) Combs. I am the genealogist of my family too! I have lots of info but any info on Fugates, Combs, Ritchies, or Campbells (who I'm also related to) I would be happy to hear about! Thanks for all your info!
|Edwin Puckett||Puckett Family Cemetery|
I want to thank you for putting the Puckett Family Cemetery on Findagrave. I had been there way back in the 1970s looking for the final resting places of my family. I was only able to find Morgan and Susan Puckett. I am a direct descendant of Morgan and Susan Puckett through their son Benjamin Gardner Puckett who is known as Pard Puckett in my family. Pard's wife is Emmeline Nancy Holmes, daughter of Samuel Hanks Holmes and Elizabeth Gibbs, who also lived in Breathitt County. Samuel Hanks Holmes is a son of John Holmes and Elizabeth Hanks of Powell County and Elizabeth Gibbs is a daughter of Nathan Gibbs and Nancy Jane Lipps of Wolfe County. I have also done a lot of research on Morgan and Susan's children. Meredith Puckett has interested me as well. I also know about the Maloney children he adopted. It is my suspicion that they are actually his children. I have a picture of his daughter Martha Puckett and she sure looks like a Puckett to me. At any rate, thank you so much.
Edwin M Puckett

|marilyn Davidson||RE: Roy L. Davidson|
Yes it is odd about Roy keeping the Davidson name. Guess we will never know. There are a couple of other family trees that list Arlie and Lucy as Roy's parents. Probably from the 1920 census.
Thanks again for shedding light on this. If anything else comes to light will share the info.
|marilyn Davidson||RE: Roy L. Davidson|
Thank you for the history on Roy L Davidson. This clears up most of the mystery, except why he kept the name Davidson.
When I saw him listed as a son of Arlie and Lucy on the 1920 census, I was surprised that my husband, Samuel (born 1931) had never known about Roy. Fortunately a link took me to your site.
I spoke with the only family left alive a few days ago and was told she thought Arlie and Lucy raised him but didn't know details.
She knew Bessie, gave us her phone number, but she was gone.
Bessie must be 98 or 99 now.
Lucy lived with us in California the last 8 years of her life, but never mentioned Roy being a part of their early family.
When I saw his photo on your website, I thought he could be a blood relative since (in the photo) he bears a close resemblance to Samuel L.(Arlie and Lucy's 1931 son.).
You have seen Roy's 1914 birth certificate, so this is unlikely The Davidsons son.
Do you know when Roy moved back with his mother?
Also did he ever live in Sacramento California?
When Lucy lived with us -we visited a relative there who had a son named Roy- this would have been in the very early 1960's.
Thank you again for clearing this up for me
|marilyn Davidson||Roy L. Davidson|
I see there is a photo and gravestone of Roy L. Davidson
It says his father was -Rennie Woodson Couch. Mother was
Annie Couch Sloane. In ancestry records his father is
Arlie Davidson and Mother is Lucy Davidson. He is listed at 5 years old in the 1920 census as living with them. Do you know which is accurate. Some say Arlie and Lucy just raised him. Would like to find more information. I am married to his possible brother Samuel
