I have been working on genealogy for about 25 years. I just found out about Find A Grave a few months ago. What a handy tool this is. I enjoy going around to different cemeteries looking at all the old headstones, and taking pictures for people who might not every see the headstonesof there ancestors if someone didn't take pictures for them.|
If anyone finds an error, please let me know and I will correct it. Also anyone who would like to add something, I can also do that for you.
For over 15 years I have been seriously researching my Gibbons family, with a beginning origin in South Carolina (Joseph Franklin Gibbons 1839 and still searching for information prior to that), also researching the Paris family (Rhoda Catherine Paris) from Spartanburg, South Carolina and the Giles families from that area.
From there the search has taken me into Harlan and Bell Counties in Kentucky, and surrounding counties in VA & TN, later on to Rockcastle and Lincoln Counties in KY also. In KY families that connect with our Gibbons are: Fee's, Green, Burkhart, Hensley, Wynn, Wilson and more.
My grandfather Andrew Jackson Gibbons was born in SC, was raised and married Margaret Fee in Harlan County KY. They raised their family in Lee Co. VA. Andrew Jackson Gibbons brothers are, James Giles, John Giles, Spurgeon Gibbons, Willie Gibbons, Campbell Gibbons, Frank Gibbons II and Nathan Gibbons. No known sisters.
If anyone has information of any of these families I would be very appreciative of anything you are willing to share.
I am also working on a register for Rose Hill Cemetery in Robinson, Kansas.

|Dorothy J. Shadwell Wheatley||Carol Weaver memorial|
I see that you have posted Carols Weavers memorial. I posted it the day after she passed. Which was on the 16th, and yours was on the 17th. So I think yours is a duplicate. I knew Carol and her husband in Salida. I also remember her dad. Thank you.
The person you have listed as the wife of Bruce Wayne Bartholomew was his stepmother. Bruce died in an automobile accident at the age of 16 and as far as I know was never married.

I received this message and have looked and I see that you posted Ralph Padoven memorial a day after I did.
I worked in Salida, Co. with his mom and Aunt, and knew his wife, daughter and son. I was wondering if you would please delete your memorial you have on findagrave.com
Thank you very much.
I was doing a search to see if my cousinís husband had been put on Find a Grave yet. Low and behold, it has been, twice it appears.
I have the memorial numbers in the subject line. I found them by doing a name search and died in year. Maybe you and the other contributer can work together to combine your information?
