RE: Delete Memorial
The only Wingerson related to me is Catherine. All I am trying to do is help clean up duplicates. Now, if you would contact the other contributor and ask him to transfer his memorial over to you, then you could delete yours. His has been up since 2006, seven years longer than yours, he has the pictures of the memorials. It doesn't matter who is first or last, the idea is to work together as a team and have the cleanest and neatest records for future generations. Before you put a new memorial, it is always a good idea to check and see if someone else has one up, then work from there. You say you are 4th cousin, the other contributor could be a 1st cousin....Thank you

Memorials
Scanned through your memorials and noticed you had duplicates, differences being name spelling. Always good idea to verify names before listing them to avoid duplication. Thank you

RE: Headstone
Hi Snake

You offered to post a photo of their headstone for my great uncle & aunt KNOLL who are buried in St. George's cemetery along with my great-grandparents and another great aunt.

Do you have photos of the following headstones:

KNOLL - Sylvester & Ottila

KNOLL - Virginia

KNOLL- Henry & Elizabeth

Do you live in Pittsburgh? Do you cover a lot of cemeteries or just this one? Would be interested in some help locating other family members buried just down the road in ST. Michaels - that is where the REST of the KNOLL/NOLL family is buried as well. Let me know if you can help with this too!

also, if you will, will you please release any of these people unto my account so that I can manage their Find A Grave sites!!

Thanks and Happy Thanksgiving!!

Penny Knoll - Bozeman, Montana

Surname started as NOLL when the family immigrated from Germany in 1863 to West Virginia and then changed to KNOLL when they moved to Pittsburgh in 1870.

RE: Headstone
Will need your member number and the person's memorial page number. Or you can go onto the person's memorial page and using the Edit tab... click on *Suggest a correction or provide additional information. Fill in the information you want done to the memorial page... in this case you will simple ask to transfer that memorial page to you and give your FindAGrave member number. When I receive this request, it is easy and I simply click on the link provided which takes me into the memorial page you want transferred. Roseanne

RE: Headstone
Could you give me her name and the name of the cemetery? It is unlikely, but possible, that I have a personal connection. This is what Find A Grave volunteers do -- create a profile, generally after going into cemeteries and taking gravestone photos. This is a tremendous help for people trying to trace their family history, find where a loved one is interred, as well as a way for people to "visit" the grave of a loved one if they are unable to go in person because of geographic distance and/or other limitations. If you do not want the profile/photo on the site, please let me know. They can be removed. Thanks, Lynn

RE: Headstone
Memorials were created from CHURCH BURIAL records that are held by the church at the top of the hill that bought the cemetery. Names are often spelled incorrectly on church records, burial certificates and other documents. I can make a notation on the memorial and if someone takes a photo the rule is the spelling on the headstone is what is used on the memorial and the correct spelling is noted in the notes or bio of the memorial. NOTE: Each request must be made individually through the SAC tab for each memorial. Your comments and relationship will be added to the memorial.

I have a lot of family in this cemetery. I searched for them for many years. I input the memorials to "help" others find their family members. I appreciated updates and history from family members.
