Bio and Links
Bio Photo I am a local historian in Rapid City SD, I specialize in finding where people are buried, I have many readings of cemeteries in Western South Dakota I hope post them on this site.
I have a vast number of cemetery readings and obituaries that I am putting on site, I also am a volunteer to look up obits for people, please contact me if you need help in the Rapid City area.
I don't go too far to do pictures, I don't go to Fall River County to do pictures too far away, some places in Pennington are too far away.
I consider my self a scribe of the cemeteries, they are waiting for family , friends or who ever knows about the person and can do a bio to take edit control of them from me.
Don't put obits up where pictures should be, ask me to transfer so you can do the memorial the right way, only so many pictures can go up and using an obit that way is wrong!
Please, please just send your number on edit to ask for transfer that is the only way I want to do it, it so much easier that way.
If anyone has memorials in South Dakota they can no longer manage, please consider transferring them to me, I would be glad to have them.
My husband died in Sept and I am finally getting back to work on memorials and anything else that I can do.

T. Rae Reichman, Webb Lake Cemtery
Hi Ellen, I am just now saw your message with obit info. for T. Rae Reichman who is buried in Webb Lake Cemetery. My email listed on Find a Grave is not my main email address so I don't check it all the time. I tried to email you but it came back as a message failure. I searched for T. Rae's obit online and could not find it.  Would it be okay for me to list you as a source of the obit info on Find A Grave?  Or, if he is a relative of yours I can transfer ownership.  I am not related to T. Rae.  I photographed most of the Webb Lake, WI cemetery one summer while we were at our WI cabin.  It's such a peaceful, little remote cemetery in the middle of the woods. Please let me know if it's okay to use you as a source and how you would like me to list your name.

RE: Please explain
I sed:

I think this bio is on the wrong memorial.

You sed:

Please explain
why you think Mary Miner memorial is wrong person, it looks alright to me, point out what is wrong, I don't see it.

The bio sez:

Wife of Alexander Miner, in 1890 Reconstructed Census of Pennington County SD, she is 78 yrs old.

Mary was born in 1872 and died in 1891, so she was about 19 when she died.

So she was 78 in 1890? Or 1891?

Although she married someone with the same name as her father, she has no maiden name? Too bad her husband is unknown, despite the reconstructed census.

Although one could suspect that this bio belongs on the memorial of her mother, Lydia Mellick, the data don't exactly agree there, either.

Maybe everything is just fine.

Rich thank you
I am happy to do it. Young Mark and wife Dorothy are buried together and Dad Mark and wife Bertha are in the same section perhaps 50 feet away. This error seems to recur as the newspapers and families living through the trauma of losing a loved one often are confused by the fact that Walnut Hill Cemeteries is actually four cemeteries - Cedar Lawn, Memorial Park, Ridgewood and Walnut Hill. It happened more in the past as they are finally getting it straight.

RE: thanks for the
You're welcome. Cemetery transcriptions sometimes contain errors because the folks that compiled them didn't understand the languages on the stones; it's pretty common. Thanks for your contributions!
