I was born in Saltillo, Texas and raised in Texas but moved to CA over 40 years ago. My great grandfather was John Arthur 3rd and my grandfather was Henry Dow Arthur. My hobbies include jewelry making, various crafts, writing, and Genealogy.(Genealogy is not really a hobby but a lifelong experience) |
My family is buried in the Old Saltillo Cemetery. They are the: Arthur,Corn,Caudle,Griffith,Agee,Brem,Wilson, Brown, Pheister,Jones, Hamilton,Hildreth, Goswick,Loving,Conley, Mann, and that's just some of my immediate family. My mother, Christine Arthur Corn, always said, "Everyone in that cemetery is related somehow".
The cemeteries I keep a listing for are:
Old Saltillo Cemetery ,Saltillo, Hopkins County, TX and Arthur Family Cemetery, Naff Valley, Franklin County VA.
If you have Bio's for any of the people I have listed in the Old Saltillo Cemetery or the Arthur Family Cemetery please let me know. I would love to see Bio's on all the people in every cemetery because their lives were all important. If you have pictures of the person please feel free to post them. YOU ARE WELCOME TO COPY OR USE ANY PHOTO'S I HAVE POSTED ON FINDAGRAVE.
I prefer you don't put Death Certificates on the loved ones that I have created because that isn't about their life, it's about their death, and most families would like to have only good things said about their family.
For those who wish to send donations for the Old Saltillo Cemetery I have the information posted below:

|Jay B.||Richard W Hamilton|
Hi Wanda, I think I may have found the grave of Richard W Hamilton. A fellow in the Hamilton community was to show me the grave that is on private land. But it rained Saturday and cancelled. I'll let you know if we can go next week.

I see you have researched Caudle/Caudill family. I descend from Sarah Caudle Hinchey Sims. If I count back right from her I descend from four James counting James Caudle/Caudill and Yarborough. Sarah Frances Caudle daughter of James & Mary "Polly" Poe Caudle, grandaughter of James & Mary Pertis, great-grandaughter of James & Mary Adams, great-great-grandaughter of James & Mary Yarborough Caudle. If what I've researched over the years is right all of these James married Mary's which has made it confusing at times as I read various individuals histories! This is my direct line down from Sarah Caudle Hinchey had David K.P. Hinchey had William Self Hinchey which had my great-grandma Dovie Hinchey Jones, which had my grandma Rosalee Jones Admire, my dad Virgle Ray Admire, and myself Chris Admire.

Hello Wanda - First I wish to thank you for the picture of the family. I was glad to see any picture relating to the Corns. Do you know who the other people, in the photo, are? Even the little girl on the porch. I have no pictures, or much of anything on this family. (started 45 years ago and only have some info from Col. George Byers, from the 1960's). Edward was my great-great-grandmother's brother. She was Caroline Corn, who married Francis Marion Whight/White in Pike Co.,Ind., in 1848. They had 2 sons Alvin Perry (my great grandfather) and William,who was an infant on the 1850 census. In 1858, in Gibson Co., Ind he remarried to Mary Ann Hardin. I have never found out what happened to Caroline or William. Do you have any info at all on them. FYI I have a bio. on the website www.genealogytrails.com/ill/washington which has a history of the Whight/White family and includes a picture of Alvin Perry (known as Perry) and his descendants. I know this is not your main line but thought you might have a note somewhere on them. Thanks again for the memorial and the picture. Kathyrn Todd

Well I am not 100% sure if this is right or not for sure. It's on my mother's father's mother's side. My mom's name is Anita Waller Hunter. Her father was William George Edwin "Bill" Waller. I heard he had a lot of other names but idk what they were. His mother's name was Estella Dorothy Lee Caudle. Her father's name was William Oakley Caudle. His father's name was Martin Oakley Caudle. now here is where it gets confusing. His father supposibly was James T. Caudle. His father was James Caudle III. His father was James Caudle Jr. His father was James Caudle Sr. But idk if this last 4 for sure the others my mom has records of.
