thank you for the transfer of Frederick J. Buschhorn, Jr's memorial. I don't know him and will be happy to return it to you if you'd like. Evidently, during my searching for anything of interest, I sent you a message about him and asked you to make a change of some sort. Do you remember what it was? Did you do it? I haven't a clue what it was or where I found it.

|Shannon B||RE: Mt. Muncie Info|
I'm not sure why he made you pay a dollar. Were you requesting a print out of each grave by chance? If so, I think I recall Gene saying something about a dollar for more specific information. What I have been doing is writing each request down and handing him the entire list, either in person or through email. He then writes down the interment number and plot location next to each name. For the rest of the more specific information like dates, family and such I do my own research before I upload a memorial or send an edit. I don't like adding someone with nothing but a photo, birth and death years and plot location so I try to complete each memorial the best I can. So, no I don't pay a dollar per photo request.
He did say he is going to have to start charging me a dollar per page for each full row I request. Myself and KC Jayhawker are trying to get all 30,000+ interments uploaded with photos so the cemetery is complete. We are working on the old Potters Field(Sec 12) at the moment, no headstones at all. Gene was nice enough to give me all 2400 names but that did prompt him to want to start charging me the dollar per page if I request a row
All the Best!

You're welcome. Glad I could help.

You provided photos of headstones in Koch cemetery in Woodford Co. IL. Are there any more you did not post, ie. for John George Koch Sr., 1829 - 1897 and his wife Elizabeth, 1828 - 1914?

That would be amazing!
There is the Leavenworth County cemetery database, however, it is not always accurate.
We have found a lot of duplicate burials added (in the database) and in the western part of the county, a lot of the smaller cemeteries burials were all placed at Kickapoo.
Unfortunately, the database has not been kept up to date. I have been trying for 3 years to get them to change the contact info for our family cemetery as the people they have listed are deceased.
I have also been working on documenting Greenwood, which has been a problem as some of the burials have been reinterred at Mt. Muncie and Mt. Calvary. The vandalism at Greenwood is so bad that less than 10% of the headstones are still standing.
Shannon has done an extraordinary job photographing Mt. Muncie. She has been taking a photo of the plot locations and documenting the location of unmarked graves that have been verified.
If you can get a copy of any information for Mt. Muncie, I would love to have a copy.
Thanks so much,
|KC Jayhawker||RE: Eugene Butzin|
I wish! Unfortunately, they will not share that list with anyone.
Shannon has been providing Gene, the caretaker, a list of photo requests and then she adds them when she does the photography.
I have been looking up people through the Newspapers.com for the obits to try to add burials for Mt. Muncie.
I know there are a few sections that have not been photographed yet, so once the weather warms a bit more I plan to go over to just walk the section and photograph what I can to assist Shannon.
