Bio and Links
Bio Photo My granddaddy was a monument carver, so from an early age I assumed everybody held picnics in cemeteries. My school-friends informed me that this idea was creepy; poor them, they missed out on the architecture, arts & design, landscaping, geology, spelling, math and history lessons I learned from observing gravesites. I also learned to question and double-check data, because even though a stone claims an ancestor died on leap day, it was not a leap year!
I was a proud momma the time I heard my son tell a friend that they couldn't meet to play, because he and his mom were "going to go look for dead people." He is an adult now, and still gladly hikes through rows of stones with me, gleaning genealogical hints.
It is recreational for me to search for monuments - good exercise for the body and for the soul!

RE: William House tombstone
Thanks for your concern. I do not know the family that well. If you would like to help others, why not you add the memorial and connect her to the parents. You are very kind to take your time to send me the email. One big reason I love Find A Grave. So many kind and helpful people. So much appreciated.

Thank you so much for your generous offer to transfer this gentleman to me. I would be happy to have him. His grandfather and my grandmother were siblings and that is my relationship. If you feel this is close enough relationship I am Alice at #47129198. I will leave it up to you.

Ames family in Indiana
Dear Janneane,

I was wondering if you might have any idea of where to look for the grave of Prescott Ames? I know you have worked on the other Ames families and connected families. Prescott is one I have been searching for a long time. My other complaint with him is I cannot find the marriage record that is "supposed" to be in Oneida Co, NY.

If you might have any hints or ideas, I would greatly appreciated them.

RE: Help with transcription # 48059190

Thank you for your help on Sylvanus Cole and Ann Cole. I just found your detailed transcription today. Of course, I've moved away from that line this month ;-D. It did help.

Sincerely Blote
