I became interested in Find A Grave when a kind member took a picture of a headstone for me. My ancestors' headstones are thousands of miles away. I decided to "return the favor" with local cemeteries and got hooked. Making digital (electronic)pictures of headstones is important historical and genealogical work. The second cemetery I did work in has a history of having very old headstones washed away when the nearby river flooded. If only someone had taken pictures 15 or 20 years ago!

I strongly feel that I am only "tending" memorials until family members come along to make them their own.

Please e-mail me with requests or corrections about memorials by using the "edit" tab on the memorial page.

A special THANK YOU to the contributors who have taken such lovely pictures of my family's headstones and posted them!

Unice (McNeal) Peal
I saw the biography for David Elias Elston (memorial 63012741) saying that his parents are Jesse John Conger Elston and Unice (McNeal) Peal. David Elston is my 2G grandfather, and his mother Unice is a "brick wall" in my research.

I've never seen the name Unice Peal before, only Unice McNeal. Are you saying her maiden name is Peal and she had a husband named McNeal (before or after marrying Jesse Elston)?

If she is a Peal (or a Peel variation), that would be a helpful new area of research for me. Any information you have would be much appreciated.

RE: Findagrave Photographs
Thank you and no problem. I'm afraid we are still at the mercy of mother nature on some things. You are most welcome. Becky

RE: James and Sophronia Hensley
Hi Sharon.Thank you.I didn't know James or Sophronia.I am sure they had to be good people.I did go down to the Blevins Hensley Cemetery this past weekend and photographed all stones that were readable.I didn't think anyone had started this cemetery but saw that you have.I did get GPS coordinates and good directions for the cemetery.I wanted to get your thoughts on if you would care if I started this cemetery on my own.I won't be mad if you don't want me to do this.If you don't care I would like for you to contribute what you have to it.Just let me know. Thanks Scott
