Bio Photo If I have entered a memorial for a relative of yours it is because when I was at the cemetery I look for other 'interesting' headstones and something must have drawn me to your relative. I will gladly transfer ownership to you if you e-mail me thru find-a-grave or at and give me your membership number.

I welcome corrections and updates...please use the EDIT tab on the memorial rather than contacting me directly.

You have my permission to use any of my FaG photos for your personal use. You will need to use the images on FaG because I do not keep the original .jpg images after I post...too many pix and not enough terabytes of storage!

I particularly enjoy visiting the remote rural cemeteries. I make every effort to find who is the steward of the cemetery and attempt to get a map of the sections and lot locations. (usually the county clerk at the courthouse has the steward information). Most of these stewards are old and all share a common frustration that nobody wants to take over the responsibility from them when they are gone. They are delighted to learn that FaG has taken the interest to list and photograph graves in their cemeteries.

Joseph Ingersoll marker
Bill Stephens,
Thank you so much for the photo of Joseph Ingersoll's marker in Eskridge. He is my 2x great grandfather and I am writing about him in a class that I am taking at the Genealogical Library. I am kind of stuck on why he moved from New York to Wisconsin and then to Kansas. I'm hoping it turns out well. At least it is a place to start.

Thanks and just as a side note, My husband is
Bill Stephans. How's that for a coincidence?

Wabaunsee County cemetery
Hi - some time ago I created the Klein-Drebing Cemetery in Wabaunsee county; I see that you took photos of the cemetery and headstones last fall. Would you still be able to pinpoint the cemetery on a map? All I have is Section 7, Township 13 South, Range 11 East. I also found where William Drebing owned the west 1/2 of the southeast 1/4 and the east 1/2 of the southwest 1/4 in Section 7. I don't see anything on Google Earth that suggests a cemetery, but it is quite small. I'd like to get an accurate map up on Find A Grave if you can help. The map I've got on there now is where Hessdale Road crosses the center of Section 7. Thanks very much! ~ Chris

RE: Amanda Morris @ Topeka Cemetery
Darn it.

I will keep up the search but cancel the request. Obviously you've done so much. If I could find a death certificate for her it might help, though many of those don't provide a cemetery (or correct cemetery). Sometimes they do provide coroner or funeral home info that is reliable however.

Again, thanks so much! I have sprained my ankle a few times walking cemeteries and it is no fun just trying to look these things up at times.

RE: Amanda Morris @ Topeka Cemetery
I think then that Maria couldn't be the correct person. She was roughly 40 years younger than Amanda Cozad Adkins Morris.

Is it possible that Amanda wouldn't be in the records for the cemetery? Are you looking through online or WPA records or at local cemetery or county records?

Many Adkins family members in Kansas and elsewhere (her son Sherman U. Adkins and his wife, for example) do not have markers of any kind and confirmation of their burials were confirmed later on by various records, which then produced information on their exact burial plots, etc.

I truly appreciate your taking the time to try and find her and will remove the photo request asap. The plan now is to keep searching in case the newspaper reports are incorrect about where she was buried. I haven't had any luck finding her in any other location whatsoever, for now.

Again, thanks so much for your help and time!
