Welcome to my profile.|
Everyone who knows me knows that I love getting to know my ancestors and have spent the better part of the last thirty years devoted to it. I enjoy walking through cemeteries and looking at memorial stones. I find it relaxing and peaceful and have met some of the nicest people through Find A Grave!
It makes me happy to help someone add a page to their history and keep the person's memory alive. I also feel that it may give a family a type of closure to know where a loved one is located.
Please, do NOT copy my photos to ancestry.com without giving me credit. Simply indicate "© 2010-2017 Chloe on Find A Grave". I'd appreciate a note letting me know you have copied them. However, do NOT post them to other Find A Grave memorials. Just let me know and I will upload them. Use for commercial purposes is not allowed under any circumstances. However, it is okay with me for you to post my photos of your friends and families headstones as long as you link it back to the Find A Grave memorial. You may use my photos on your own personal website if non-commercial, but photo credit is again appreciated.
Please use the new Edit System when possible for making any name or date changes to a memorial. You add the changes yourself and I will approve them or contact you for further clarification.
I am happy to add or correct information for you on memorials. I am somewhat liberal with transfers of anyone not related to me, but please state your specific relationship.
Please also feel free to contact me via email or post a message regarding any additional related family members. Perhaps we are cousins!
THE RECORDING OF A CEMETERY
BY THELMA GREENE REAGAN
Today we walked where others walked
On a lonely, windswept hill;
Today we talked where other cried
For Loved Ones whose lives are stilled.
Today our hearts were touched
By graves of tiny babies;
Snatched from the arms of loving kin,
In the heartbreak of the ages.
Today we saw where the grandparents lay
In the last sleep of their time;
Lying under the trees and clouds -
Their beds kissed by the sun and wind.
Today we wondered about an unmarked spot;
Who lies beneath this hollowed ground?
Was it a babe, child, young or old?
No indication could be found.
Today we saw where Mom and Dad lay.
We had been here once before
On a day we'd all like to forget,
But will remember forever more.
Today we recorded for kith and kin
The graves of ancestors past;
To be preserved for generations hence,
A record we hope will last.
Cherish it, my friend; preserve it, my friend,
For stones sometimes crumble to dust
And generations of folks yet to come
Will be grateful for your trust.

I had found his mother's obit and notified her memorial manager when I had submitted some other edit requests. That manager added the obit to Elizabeth's memorial.
Thank you, Pioneersearcher.

It states his mother's maiden name was Sringer. I just wanted to let you know it's SPRINGER. No big deal just thought you might want to know.

By the way, I'm a member of the Rogue Valley Genealogical Society/Jackson County Genealogy Library. I did a quick search, and it looks like they would have a copy of his obituary and death certificate, if it's the same person. The library web site is www.rvgslibrary.org.

Dear Chloe, thank you for your response. Its sad that Rimskittle would do such a thing. But I guess she/he must have had a reason.
The loser in this are the people who rely on the good services of people such as yourself who diligently find, document, and post these precious records for the benefit of all.
thank you so much for your work.
best regards, Payam

I hope you can help me. You created a site for Warren Bishop Marsden which is currently maintained by rimskittel. However the photo of the stone on this site is for a Minna Beyer Madsen.
I wonder if you can help me locate the grave for Warren Bishop Marsden.
Thank you so much for your help.

Thanks again Chloe for the Census information on the Andreas and Elizabeth family. Hopefully this will also help other people searching this family. I never knew my grandfather, Andreas, but knew my grandmother Elizabeth.
