DO NOT SEND ME EXCERPTS FROM DEATH CERTIFICATES. iF YOU ARE GOING TO TAKE THE TIME TO COPY AND PASTE THE INFORMATION JUST PUT THE DEATH CERTIFICATE ON THE MEMORIAL. i DELETE THOSE MESSAGES.|
I am researching the different branches of my family tree. Maternal Rose, Kuhns, Drylie, Muse, & Silvis. Paternal any descendants or ancestors Of Christian & Charlotte King and Isaac/Isaiah and Emma Conover & John and Rebecca Wallace. I have traced some of these lines back to England, Germany, Scotland, Ireland as far back as 1410. I became a grave hunter when a family story led me on a search for the grave of a child who was born in 1884 and died in 1888 between census records, the church where he was baptized burned losing all records, there was not mandatory birth registration so there was no proof he ever existed. I have now been involved in a tombstone project photographing entire cemeteries in my area. My friend Franny and I have photographed 154 cemeteries in Allegheny, Fayette, Washington and Westmoreland Counties in Pennsylvania however getting them all uploaded to Find A Grave has proven to be a very long and slow process so if anyone out there is looking for someone who could be buried in this area please don't be afraid to ask it is possible one of us already has a photo. For anyone out there doing the same thing--- THANK YOU.
It never ceases to amaze me that people will just create a cemetery with out checking to see if it is already up. If I took a picture in Cemetery A. but there is paperwork saying burial in Cemetery B. I go with Cemetery A. where there is a tombstone the family has paid for. As for government documentation we all know the government never makes mistakes.
MY MEMORIALS ARE MADE FROM INFORMATION ON THE TOMBSTONES I PHOTOGRAPH. I HAVE NO WAY OF KNOWING IF THE TOMBSTONE IS ACCURATE. IF YOU SEND ME A CORRECTION THAT CONFLICTS WITH THE TOMBSTONE INFORMATION PLEASE SEND ME A COPY OF THE SOURCE YOU USED TO SEND THE CORRECTION THANK YOU

You are quite right. The information entered on the Find A Grave is based on her baptismal information from St Mary's, Lonaconing, Md and subsequent census records. There is a note in the Find A Grave stating her name was different on her death certificate.
Thank you so much! It's wonderful to see what he really looked like. You did a good thing.

Thanks Kathi for correcting me on the cemetery for Gil. trying to get my husband's family graves noted and am not familiar with the area. Just went with what was in the obituary. New at this so will probably make mistakes along the way.

Thank you for taking the time to do my photo request. It is greatly appreciated.

BTW. Cemetery plots are considered private property in the state of Pennsylvania. And as such, most cemeteries do not look with favor on those of us providing the services of Find A Grave. Having worked in over 300 cemeteries in six states, I can count only 20 that appreciated the work that we do.
So unfortunately, I have to avoid most offices and take my pictures after hours or weekends.
I agree someone should take responsibility. Unfortunately its Find A Grave. They have fallen down on their beta program big time. They promised that duplicates would be eliminated and there would be a warning of that duplication to the transcriber. Unfortunately that didn't happen. Witn over 50 thousand pictures most of them handled by my 100 volunteers, I had little difficulty. I used beta for 6 cemeteries and yours happen to be a small group and am much too busy with the others to verify each. I am relying on you to tell me that each record has been updated on the other cemetery.
Unfortunately, I got responses from relatives that updated the transcriptions only to come back and find their updates and memorials were gone. I am deleting on your ok that the info has been teleported over. The others will be in limbo until I have time to verify. I wont delete all of the memorials without you or I verifying.
And I wont be using the transcriber program, preferring instead my volunteers. It takes months instead of hours, but is much more reliable.

I checked on a number of memorials that you listed as being ascribed to an incorrect cemetery (because of the cemetery within a cemetery) but there was no memorial set up to transfer the details to. So when you send a note that the stone belongs to the other cemetery let me know that it has its home there and I will delete the memorial. You can use any of my info or pic if you want. Bill
