Gershom Legg
Good Day

I am researching Gershom Legg, an ancestor of one of our DAR chapter members and have noted that you have contributed a lot to the Fairview Cemetery in Naples Ontario Co NY where her other ancestor Nathan Watkins is buried and a photo of his gravestone is there. I see on findagrave that other family members of her are also in this cemetery (Edward Kibbe and wife) and other ancestry members input that Gershom Legg is also there, however Find a grave which is user input , doesn't list him.

Is there anyway that you could confirm his burial there and get a photo input to find a grave? I know that's a big request but this is another patriot that hasn't yet been acknowledged through DAR channels so I'm trying to get that done, and his gravestone would be another great record for him.

Thank You

You are welcome. Glad I could help. It's so hard to get good pictures of the older stones.

Thanks for the additional date information. I happily added what you sent.
The original input came from a typed list and unfortunately the information is not all complete.
I hope this was an ancestor of yours. I am unable to take photo's any more but if you request one, there is a nice lady that has been helping people with that.
If you live in the Bay area, the Cemetery at the Vet's Home is open to the Public and you can visit there any day. Just stop at the little building on the right as you enter the California State Veterans Home roadway and they can give you directions to the Cemetery. You are also welcome to tour the grounds of the Home. It is a very interesting and beautiful place.

Glad I could help. The stones are in very poor condition because they are lying down, so it is good that you have a record of them.

Got the requests you just posted. The description of the lot is intriguing. I will see what I can do.

Hello Karen,

Glad I could help. It was on my way to the V.A.
I'm so happy I found them for you. I will try to get the other two tombstone photos for you as well.
