Bio

I continue to be dismayed by the number of well meaning people who forward their guesses and assumptions as facts. Please stop making assumptions! Just because someone is buried in California does NOT mean they died in California. Just because someone is buried in a cemetery does NOT mean their spouse, children and parents are buried in that cemetery. If you have certain knowledge of burial details, forward them, otherwise keep looking for proof.

I've been into family history since the 1960's. I'm grateful that I started when I did as so much family information gets lost because we don't ask questions early on.

Find a Grave is a great site and powerful resource. Thanks to all who work so hard to fulfill its primary purpose - documenting known burials.

I'm happy to make changes and links for well documented information. Please send transcriptions of obits and news articles (with name and date of the publication) rather than uploading images of them to the photo area. Also, please note that "cut and paste" or transcribed census reports are NOT a bio. Data will be put into proper fields. If you want more, please write a few narrative sentences.

A note on cause of death... I am am okay with adding general "circumstances of death" such as "of an accidental gun shot while duck hunting," or "in an auto accident," or "at the Battle of Gettysburg," but not suicide or murder. Extended descriptions of death or technical medical causes such as "fracture of skull with cerebral contusions and hemorrhage," or "cirrhosis of liver," etc., will not be added as I feel they are inappropriate to the purpose of Find-a-Grave."

Permission is granted for personal use of any of the photos I have added, giving me credit for having provided them. Permission is denied for use of my photos for posting on other websites (for Ancestry.com - please use their linking option instead). Permission is denied for sale of my photos or for any other use for monetary profit.
