If you take photos at Fort Jackson, please fill out the tombstone inscription completely. Some people may not able to read the inscription shown in the photo because the picture is too light or the engraving might not be not clear. If you will add the inscription to the page it will be helpful.|
Also, when including the section where the person is buried, it should read, for example, Sec 4 Lot 3 or section 4 Plot 3. Some people aren't familiar with the way the Fort Jackson cemetery is numbered and by including the section and lot numbers it will be helpful to family members who are looking for a particular plot.
If I send you a correction, please be kind and accept what I have taken the time to type out for you. I will not send you something that is incorrect. I may misspell a word once in awhile, but it is not intentional.
Please help me make the veterans' locations and headstones as complete as possible. I want to honor these brave men and women who have served our country.

|Remember me||RE: Fort Jackson|
I am close to that "old" category myself, in fact probably have already passed it, and I have no problem with 5 - 34 listing. In fact my problem is that I have had edits changing locations to that type entry before. And if you look at the back of the marker, that is the way the location is showing. If they don't understand 5 - 34, they're going to wonder what "SEC" means probably.
|Laurie Davis Hannah||Thanks|
Thanks for all your hard work at Fort Jackson National Cemetery. It is much appreciated. God bless, Laurie
|Randy Thomas||Thank you|
Sam, thank you for the obituaries and photos. They are very much appreciated. With your editions, the sites are more complete.
|Carol V||Access to Cemeteries on Private Property, SC Law|
I appreciate your noting the problem with access to the Granby Cemetery in Cayce, SC, specifically the grave of of Capt. John Hart. It seemed "wrong" to me that someone could block access to a cemetery so I looked up SC law. Indeed, (I am no expert in citing law, so I hope this is close) Title 27, Chapter 43, Article 3, "Access to Cemeteries on Private Property"(SECTION 27-43-310)states that access must be given, (when presented with a written request in a prescribed time,) to family and descendants of persons buried there (or their agents,) to visit graves and/or conduct genealogical research. The property owner can set some restrictions as to time, route used for ingress, etc.
I found this information at: http://www.scstatehouse.gov/code/t27c043.php
I am NOT requesting that you go to all this trouble, I simply felt that someone as active on FindaGrave as you are, would want to know this if you were previously unaware.
I will probably repost the request for John Hart with this information in the notes. Perhaps someone else who wants to see the cemetery in spite of the limited access may try at some point. The memorial for Captain Hart notes an inscription, so I have to presume a headstone does exist.

|Vicky Fry L.||RE: Ardie|
I sometimes scratch my head wondering how duplicates happen! lol On this particular instance, I used the name found on her obituary, for her memorial: Billie (Garner) Bowers and linked her memorial to her husband's memorial. The other person listed her name as: Ardie Garner "Billie" Bowers, with no link to her husband's memorial. In this instance, there was no way I would've know the other memorial had already been made. Either way, I will delete mine. Thanks again, Vicky

Thanks for letting me know, I will delete my duplicate. May I ask a small favor, it's easier on us if you'd use the Edit feature for us to make corrections. Thanks again, Vicky.

No problem. I looked at it wrong myself, when accepting the first edit. Your next edit corrected it. It's all good now :)

Thank you so much for fulfilling so many requests for photographs. I have a chronic disorder which sometimes makes it difficult to leave the house. I really do appreciate you taking the time out of your day to help others. Thank you!
No, sorry, I was just trying to explain why I was not moving Dr. Nungezer's grave location. I will contact the person that put up the obit as you suggested.
Thank you, Bill

I want to thank you for taking the photos of my Aunt's headstone and uploading to the site. I truly appreciate your time and efforts. This means the world to me and the family members who are unable to be in the area to have someone like you take your precious time and fulfill something we could not. You are truly a caring person. Again, thank you!!
