Bio and Links
Bio Photo I love Genealogy. It has been so rewarding researching my ancestors and finding out all about them. I just found this Web Site and I have been wondering for so long why there wasn't something like this for us researchers before now. It certainly makes it easier to find people.
Now about me: I am a Native Texan and am involved in many organizations with initials: DAR, B.S.A., A.I.S.A. O.E.S., L.O.S, S.O.O.B,and some without initials: Scottish Rite Ladies Aux.and Optimist International. I love doing most crafts, photography and my passion is genealogy.

I am researching the surnames on my Dad's family of: Cherry, Anderson, Adair, Bass, White, Murphy, Moore, Henderson, Greer, Love, Boyd, Brumley, McKay, McKinley, Key, and Sharrock,
And on my mother's side: Brackeen, Littleton, Brown, Gray,Green, Montgomery, Barrett and Hancock.

and on my husband's family: Merk, Dodson, Morrison, Gillock, Gilmore, Nail, Harkins, LeFlore and Folsom.
And family connections of my children: Thomas, Cudd and Johnson.

I am retired now and plan to do more time at the cemeteries looking for gravesites and taking pictures. All of these are my passion and what a joy to find I can now put them all together and to use for myself and any others wanting some help. I encourage everyone to submit their families gravesites to this website. It does help so much when genealogists are researching a name.

Please, DO NOT use e-mails and public messages to request transfers, corrections, links, and/or additions. They DON'T contain the necessary information I need and will be IGNORED and/or DELETED.

If you have additional information, corrections, transfer requests, and/or links, please click the EDIT tab which is at the upper right of each memorial. Select the first bulleted item (SAC) and follow the directions.

Transfer requests should only be for DIRECT relatives within FOUR generations. This would be your spouse, children, parents, siblings, grandparents, great-grandparents, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. When requesting a transfer, please state your relationship to the individual.

Any NON-DIRECT relatives (aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, etc) ARE NOT REQUIRED to be transferred. For these extended family members, you can create a "Virtual Ccemetery" and keep track of them there.

If I created a memorial for your loved one and you would like to have it transferred to you, please let me know. If you are an IMMEDIATE (within 4 four generations) member of that family, I will be happy to transfer it to you, if it is not in one of my family lines. If I make a memorial and transfer it to you, do not delete it and start over with one of your own. If you do, it will be reported to Find A Grave. If you notice duplicates that I have done, please let me know and I will deal with them. If I place a photo on your loved one's MEMORIAL page and you do not want it on there, please feel free to contact me and I will remove it. I never want to intrude or offend, so please let me know, if I do.

PLEASE do not put obits or documents in the Virtual Flower Section on any of my memorials. They should be in the obit section. I will be happy to add any of those. Send those to me by using the edit tab at the right of the memorials.

Hi Lena,
All the edit requests you've approved are stored in your profile page. From the page you're reading this on, click along the top tab that says "edit" - it may be grayed out but you can click on it. Next, switch the drop down display from "Edits sent to me that I need to review" to "Edits I have sent that were approved." This will list them all. Unfortunately, it allows no sorting of the fields so it's not practical to find one if you've approved hundreds of edits.

RE: Ida Runyon Duringer
Lena, Would it be possible to check to see who sent the edit to add the link to Absolom as Ida's father?

I believe her maiden name should be changed to Jackson. Her father, George Jackson died as a result of disease while fighting in the Civil War. Mr. Runyon married her widowed mother, Margaret, in 1866 and raised her and her sister Jemima.

Ida Runyon Duringer
Hi Lena, I am hoping you can tell me more about Ida's parents. We always thought that Ida was the daughter of Margaret Hudson and George Jackson and that Abolom Runyon didn't married widow Margaret until 1866. Would love to hear what you know. Thanks, Nancy

Thank you very much for adding the info I have sent you on the Faulkners. Some of them died before I was born but I knew quite a few of them. They are my mother's uncles and cousins. I hear stories about all of them as my older sister and brother rode horses all over Delta County with them. Parties and wiener roasts in the pastures always included them.Ira Alice Tharp made the "best and lightest rolls in Delta County" according to my siblings. When she made them she always made extra for the teens to eat right then.

Oaklawn Cemetery Delta Co, TX
Hi, I found Josie Balden in this cemetery and was hoping there might be more information to verify she is my ggggrandmother Josephine Laura Rawlings. She married Daniel M. Balden/Baldwin abt 1889. (a conf. soldier filing for pension in Cooper, Delta Co., TX in 1914 from MS). Pension papers states Daniel was living in a poor house. Daniel & Josie were on 1910 Census Cooper, Delta Co. TX.
I just can't find his gravesite. Daniel was injured in CW and was 21 years older than Josie. They also had a daughter Lucille (Lucy) M. Balden/Baldwin that married James A. Childers/Childress in Idabel, OK. I'm sending all this info in case one of these names is listed with Josie's information at the cemetery or even a funeral home that cared for her at her death.
Thank you so much for any information you might have. Gwen
