Bio and Links
Bio Photo Find A Grave's mission is 'graves registration'.

Please specify your relationship when requesting transfers. I am no longer transfering outside the Findagrave guidelines.

Due to the growing popularity of the website I have been getting multiple transfer requests for the same memorial from several different contributors. Trying to determine who should get the memorial is becoming difficult for me.

Find-A-Grave Policy on Transfers

Transfer requests should be for direct relatives within four generations, this would be your siblings, parents, grandparents, and great-grandparents. Keep in mind that the original contributor may also be related to the memorial and may not want to make the transfer.

I am always happy to make corrections and add links when asked.

You have my express permission to copy my photos from Find A Grave and use them on other sites. Attribution is appreciated, but not necessary.

RE: Byron Scott
Thanks, Judy! If I can find out a few other dates for my family, I'll get a hold of you again, but for now, well done!

RE: Byron Scott
If you would, please, create a memorial page for my grandpa and then please link him to Byron. That would mean a lot to me! Thanks!!!!!!

RE: Byron Scott
Yeah, my grandpa is not on Find A Grave. He was cremated and his remains were scattered near the San Juan Islands in Washington State. (My uncle, his son, John Byron Scott, was scattered there too.) Does the person (my grandpa, in this case) have to be in Find-A-Grave to have a listing as Byron's child?

Donald R. MacDonald # 102386862
First, I greatly appreciate your tremendous work which has been very helpful to me. I believe the subject Donald R. MacDonald d. 10 Dec 1885 is a case of mistaken ID; he is not the spouse of Rachel MacPherson. her husband Donald MacDonald is most likely the death registered in 1889 at Ailsa Craig ON (Death Schedule ref:010761). Their last child Kitty Mary Ann MacDonald was registered on 10th Sept 1888 at Ailsa Craig. Donald MacDonald's 1st wife was Margaret MacLellan, my great grandfather's sister, they married in North Uist, Scot. 1861, had 5 sons, emigrated to Canada 1872, Margaret died 1873. Donald returned to North Uist and married Rachel MacPherson, immediately returning to Canada where they had 7 children. The 1881 Census Ailsa Craig ON records Donald (52), Rachel (32) plus Margaret's 5 sons and Rachel's 3 sons as a combined family. Sorry it's a bit long-winded! A simple un-linking of # 102386862 solves the issue. Many thanks, Alexander.

RE: James F. Burris @ 21491261
Hi Judy,

I didn't want to make any waves, please forgive me.
As for myself, I never saw the Obit our 'James' or did I see anything else for that matter, but personally, I would say, that the Civil War Draft Card / Registration, and being young as James F. Burris was back then, he was smart and bright enough to those people, to give his age, the month and year he was born... so, I would consider that, a very legal document, if nothing else.

James F. Burris @ 21491261
Hi Judy,

My calculations say that our 'James' was born in 1837 according to his Army Enlistment Date of 1863 @ the age of 26, and not 1840...., or did I miss something here?

Sorry, and GOD Bless!

Lt. William D. Matthews - USCT
Hi Ms. Mayfield,

I am the administrator for the FB page, Stories of the United States Colored Troops. I think you may have the wrong cemetery/tombstone for Lt. W.D. Matthews of the United States Colored Troops. I do believe he is buried in the National Cemetery in Leavenworth, KS, not Fairview Cemetery in Riverdale, KS. Can you please check?

Name Error

Hello, I am writing (from France) to inform you that the birth name of Marie Zo Stephenson was ESCALLE and not D'Escalle. She was my great aunt born in France and emigrated to the USA in 1910.
Thank you to rectify if you can.
