Bio and Links
Bio Photo My husband is so understanding as we do our genealogy, plus stopping at cemeteries to fulfill photo requests for other people.

If you find any errors, want additional information or an obituary added, please send it through the edit tab on the memorial and I will revise &/or add the information. Since many volunteers create memorials that aren't relatives, it makes it much easier if we don't have to go "hunting" for the memorial you are referring to.

IF YOU REQUEST A TRANSFER, BE SURE YOU ARE COMMITTED TO A LIFETIME OF MAINTAINING THE MEMORIAL. UNFORTUNATELY A FEW OF MY OLDER TRANSFERS ARE MAINTAINED BY CONTRIBUTORS WHO NO LONGER RESPOND.

EDITS SHOULD ALWAYS HAVE THE SOURCE.

LINKS WILL NOT BE MADE TO MEMORIALS IN UNKNOWN CEMETERIES.

A BIG thank you to all of the fellow findagravers that add my suggestions, and, especially, the obits so that many individuals can benefit from them on their search.

Please consider any pictures that I have taken as yours...I am the messenger and believe that they belong to the family.

What kind of photos may be added to a memorial page?
You may add a grave photo of the headstone or a portrait photo containing the memorialized. Do not add photos of the cemetery gate to the memorial but instead add them to the cemetery's page. If a cemetery photo has been designated by admin to serve as the default photo to appear on individual memorial pages in that cemetery, it will appear automatically. Not all cemeteries have a default photo designated. There is a limit of 5 photos for non-famous memorials that have not been sponsored. Sponsored memorials may have up to 20 photos. Any contributor can upload an appropriate photo to any memorial regardless of who manages the page. No permission from the memorial manager is needed. However, if there is already a photo of the headstone, do not add a second similar photo unless the original is of poor quality and the new photo is dramatically better. This leaves room for photos of the deceased within the five-photo limit on unsponsored memorials. Please note that it is not appropriate to delete a page and substitute it with a new memorial that you have created just because you don't like a photo that someone else has added. If the photo is an appropriate addition to the memorial, it will be allowed to remain.

****If you volunteer on this website and decide you no longer want to maintain the records please transfer your records to someone who has an active account and willing to take over the records. I am one of many willing to take over records. This really will help reduce duplicates. It would also be a good idea to leave someone instructions on how to do make these transfers should you go inactive without warning.***** Thank You

My philosophy; "No One Should Be Forgotten".

This memorial is wrong. Elizabeth Foutz wife of Jacob Alter, was born in Apr 1868 near Hagerstown, Maryland and died in 1855 in Cumberland County. I do not know where the dates on this memorial came from but they are totally incorrect. The information for Elizabeth & Jacob and their children can be found in the Harrisburg Telegraph, May 23, 1885 Page 4, The Family of Alter. Please fix her memorial Thank you

RE: James Cyrus Morford
Of course! I didn't think of that. His dad was James, so he went by Cyrus and there you have it. We found this grave 20-ish years ago and have all kinds of pictures with our small boys/teddy bears and the like. Our youngest is named James after JC. Enjoy your vacation!

James Spencer Holloway, son & wife
I updated and merged James Spencer Holloway's memorial with one at the Ft. Leavenworth, KS cemetery. The death month on the grave stone is wrong if the date in the Death register there is correct. I think the death should be 14 Nov 1912, instead of Dec.

I updated Nancy Power Holloway's memorial and created one for their son Daniel & linked it to them. So all we are missing for James immediate family right now is James Spencer Holloway's daughter Jessie Holloway Myer Defraites. I can make one for her, too.

Duey
Hi Peggy,
My name is Jackie Gentzel. I noticed your name on one of my ancestor's Find A Grave site. My Mother's maiden name was Duey and Isabell Raymond Duey was my maternal great grandmother. Are you connected to these Duey's? One of Isabell's sons used the spelling Dewey. If we are connected, I would enjoy getting in touch.
Thank you for keeping these records.
My e-mail is gentzel1@comcast.net

RE: Carrie N. Smith Stoner Memorial # 118807046
Hi Peggy,
Thank you for contacting me.
The source that I have for Carrie's birthplace is: Virginia Select Marriages (1785-1940). She married John H. Stoner on 07/28/1914 in Richmond, VA. That document lists her birthplace as Franklintown, PA. It also states that she was previously widowed from _____Osinger.
Years after Carrie's death, John married my widowed great-aunt, Adelaide Maher Kelley. John and Adelaide are buried in Calvary Cemetery, Altoona, Blair Co., PA, USA.
I applaud your fact checking. We need more volunteers like you on Find A Grave.

RE: Eppley photo requests
What a wonderful thing to do in placing tombstones on the unmarked graves in your local cemetery. That's really awesome! God bless~ Dee
