Bio and Links
Bio Photo I live in the Martinsville/Henry County Area of VA.

I will only transfer memorials if you state your relationship with the person and are within the guidelines for transfer.

I will also transfer any WWII Veteran to any researcher that needs them.

Any photo that I have taken, of a tombstone or marker may be copied without my permission. I took them but the families of these people have every right to use them.

Obituaries will only be added if you send me the source of the article. Otherwise it violates copyright laws and I will not add them.

Use the EDIT tab to send corrections or suggestions. If you e-mail me direct your message will probably go to my Junk Mail and I won't see it.

I am slowly transferring all of my National Cemetery memorials to FAG. If you want one or more of them let me know.

"Just to let you know that the link wasn't changed on this one at your web page. NY Erie CO."

What would you like to have happen, the above does not tell me what to do. Better yet would it be possible to add via the edit?

Charles Barnet
Hi Janice,

Went to the cemetery today and found Charles headstone. He is buried next to Mary Barrett, wife of Henry Lind. Can you maybe explain this connection. How does Barrett and Barnett connect? Just a few graves in front of these are several other Barrett's.

RE: Lt Charles Barnett

I will go back and find the stone for you. It is only 2 miles from my home. Give me a day or two and will see what I can find.

Hi Janice,
took a quick look around while looking for Joseph DeSantis and these soldiers might also have been killed during the war...not sure if you look for certain branches or divisions but I'll list and you can request any now that I know where to look.

Louis DeSantis (1925-19450
CASMIR SOPCZYK (1913-19450
Alfred Alessandra (1917-1945)
Joseph Smaldone (1912-1944)
Walter Dzielski (1920-1945)
Earl Weber (1922-1944)
George Mickl (1922-1945)
George Ellinger (1921-1945)

I'm sure there are many more but I'll wait until they trim the grass for better photos.

RE: John Vilz
You're welcome. In that same cemetery was a Math Vilz (1896-1965) and a Margaret C Vilz (1902-1988)
Would you like these posted as well?

Vietnam Marine Memorials??
Hi Janice,
While looking for a Marine memorial I came across your contributor page. Read your profile that you were transferring your memorials to the Find A Grave website and anyone wanting any of the memorials to just to ask.
As you transfer your memorials to the Find A Grave website and if you come across any Marine memorials that you have would you please consider transferring them to me to research and create bios for their memorials, or if you have a Virtual Cemetery of Marine Vietnam KIA's would you please transfer them.
I think that in the past I requested one or two from you and you transferred them to me. Not sure how many.
Thank you,
Tony #47235247

RE: Winston Baker
I contacted someone at Pine Crest and she said she would look around and see what she can find. I think he might have been moved, or I'm looking in the wrong place with the wrong plot info. I will keep looking. Also I contacted someone to help me find out more information about Winston's death. The date, Oct 25, 1944, is a famous battle of Leyte Gulf in the Philippines, and one article I read said the 24th Corp was there. I'm really interested in finding something out. It appears from census data from 1930 and 1940 that he may have been an only child and both parents have passed. I will keep hunting. Thanks for your help.

RE: Sgt Fred Barto
His veteran's burial card says Horn's Russian Cemetery. It is separate consecrated ground surrounded by a chain link fence on both sides of the road as the numbers of burials increased. St. Nicholas was one of 4 Russian Orthodox Old Believers churches in the USA. I am not sure when that property became St. Nicholas Cemetery and separate from Horn's as there are Russian orthodox burials in the regular cemetery but they were earlier. The church that supports this cemetery was not built until 1910 or so. I might have a window of about 15 minutes to go the that graveyard tomorrow. I only just started photographing this cemetery. I have a person that will translate the Russian for me. I did take a picture and put it on Find-a-Grave for the father Paul. Janis
