My father once called my brother and me, "Dead end kids", and now that I am doing this genealogical research, I can feel his disappointment. Both of us had our reasons and our spouses felt the same, but this Find a Grave research has given me great satisfaction. We may not leave descendants, but we can leave a heritage for other members of our extended families to find as time goes on. This is a great network of volunteers who are willing to help each other "fill in the blanks" with photos and information.|
I had several professional lives, which seems to be the norm. I was first, a fashion designer and spent two years living in New York City enjoying that, then felt called to an occupation with more long-lasting benefits, so returned to Arizona and taught third grade children for 30 years. Upon retirement, my husband and I opened an Antique business which we enjoyed for several years. Since then, discovering the family roots has become a passion...who knew we had been in this country, in many branches, since the 1600s! Now I am hooked!

The grave in Blount County is not that of James Clark that lived in Sevier County, TN.
The book that is referenced and documents the burial in Blount County is that belonging to a man that came from VA.
My James Clark of Sevier County, TN was Baptist. I am glad to share with you the information about the James Clark of this burial. The James of Sevier County, TN is very likely buried with his son and grandson in a group of graves with fieldstone markers in Sevier County, TN.

You're welcome. Good luck finding your aunt.

So sorry I took so long to reply. Of course I remember you. There are several listings for William Norcross on Ancestry.Com, Some with middle initial T and some with m.i. F but I doubt any of these would match.
Sorry I could not be of more help, Good luck!
|Shirley Wilkerson||James Butler II|
James Butler II is my 6th Great Grandfather and I would love to talk with you in more depth if you would want to also.
I got a little chuckle out of your reference to being a dead end kid. I am always telling my son that our line ends with him as he has chosen not to marry and have children.

There are over 48 people that all show interred in 1861 in this lot. There is another Butler in the lot. Margaret S Butler, born Alexandria, VA, last residence Cincinnati, OH, died in 1837, interment Aug 3 1861.

Happy that it was of benefit to you. So often these old obits are the only bio available for a person, so combing through old newspapers for them gives me pleasure if they bring happy thoughts to others. Donna

Hi Cerelle - I have been researching the Butlers for a very long time, but, not for a few years now. I just came across the Find a Grave memorial you entered (158392998). Please tell me how you found his birth date and ancestors.

Can you confirm that Alfred Neal Oliver is in an Oliver Cemetery in Callaway County? Which one?
