Bio and Links
Bio Photo I have been working on my family's genealogy since a history teacher assigned a project to me as a high school sophomore. That was a long time ago! Today I focus on helping people with Sawyer County (Wisconsin) area research, plus compiling information on Polish Americans in Wisconsin. Please contact me if you need assistance with northern Wisconsin genealogy or Wisconsin Polonia, or other Polish ancestry research.

I have walked and taken notes at many area cemeteries. (Thank you to my nephew JP for walking some of these with me.) These were tombstone transcriptions only and I read them the best I could. I'm now adding to these entries as well as adding unmarked graves using information from the Sawyer County newspaper archives. Please contact me if you need an obit look-up in the Sawyer County Record newspaper based in Hayward. You may contact the Sawyer County Gazette newspaper based in Winter directly by writing to

THIS INFORMATION IS FREE FOR YOU TO USE. I enjoyed doing the research and uploading this data, so I hope it helps other genealogists. If you want a management transfer, just send me a request using the edit button.

RE: Chaurette
Do you think you could find out what happened to Mary Dandy Chaurette, Henry's wife? She last appeared in the Indian census in 1934 and Henry is in the 1940 census listed as a widower. 1934 to 1940 - is that a narrow enough window for you to do some magic? <> Reva

I added a new picture of the grave marker for my uncle - Harry Paul Rogers - that's more clear then the original picture attached to his memorial. Could you kindly remove the picutre you submitted? Thank you for your consideration. John Rogowski

Anna Smith #55033277
Dear Karen:

I would appreciate it if you could kindly look into the obituary of Anna Smith, above, to determine if she is, in fact, the sister of my 3rd great grandmother, as I suspect.

Her husband would likely be Edward Smith #55033278, whose memorial I also believe you are responsible for creating.

I would be delighted to donate to St. Ignatius for your services or pay you a reasonable rate to have this research performed.

Thank you and warmest regards,
