Bio and Links
Bio Photo After careful consideration and over 7 years as a (pretty much daily) contributor to this website, I will no longer link to a memorial where the final disposition is "burial unknown." It is my understanding that the Burial Unknown option was set up by FAG originally for recent burials with the provision they be removed after 30 days (see FAG Guidelines) and over time it has transformed into a way to build a family tree or collect a specific geographic or surname group. There are many other sites that do family trees really well. Find-A-Grave's primary mission has always been to be a GRAVE depository. I confess I have one or two "unknowns" of my own but they were only set up after chasing clues for years and visiting many cemeteries. My two (2) unknowns out of 23,000+ memorials is evidence in my mind to my commitment to this site as to where the individual was buried. Please don't be annoyed or resentful of me for taking this position. I've given it a lot of thought and while I want to help you connect to your ancestors, you have other options - you could create a "virtual cemetery" via your FAG contributor page as well as using any of the many tree making sites. I send you my kindest regards and appreciate your understanding.

The image of the peacock was a logo for a talent agency business in 1969 located in
St Simons Island, Georgia. The owner, "Country Bill", aka Robert Lee Davis, born named Charles G Raymond, also had residences and/or connections in AL, FL, VA and MA. If you have any info on "Country Bill" or if you have seen this logo anywhere, please send me a message with any information you have by clicking below on "leave message." OR send a post to his Facebook page: click here.
Thanks for your help in telling the story of Country Bill's life/death.

If you have any add'l info or corrections on any of the memorials I have posted please use the "EDIT" tab on the memorial to send me a "correction or suggestion." Please don't be offended if I ask for your resource(s). I'm not being critical, just thorough.

I have a number of projects going at once and therefore some of my memorials are lacking details but are on my "to do" list...I try really hard to include a detailed biography on the memorials I create - most are not my family, I'm doing what I can to help others with clues - don't yell at me if what I have posted isn't what you think it should be - I am a VOLUNTEER and have a life full of challenges beyond FAG memorials, census records and birth/death certificates. I'm guilty of mistakes and oversights just like the recorders who wrote the info down over the centuries...

My motivation is to provide historical records to others. "Pay it forward." If what I've posted helps you in your genealogy or provides you some comfort because you can visit a grave from near or far, then my mission is accomplished and I urge you to help others in some way.

I don't mind if you use my pics for your personal use or even on your genealogy website but CREDIT FAG FOR THE PHOTO! If you save a photo to your computer from findagrave.com and then upload it to a website, reference findagrave.com and the memorial number, let others know about this website! Without the reference, I consider the image STOLEN.

Enjoy your summer! May the green walkways in the hallowed grounds of the cemeteries in your community become more meaningful to you and may we all appreciate the efforts of the many volunteers that contribute to FAG. May you and yours find a little quiet time for reflection and may we all spread a little kindness and patience in all the seasons of our lives...

Upon my death I authorize any of my memorials to be transferred to any FAG contributor as they are requested.
[thanks to FAG Cathy Clark for this statement on her contributor page as this is my desire and agreement wholeheartedly - perfect and appropriate]

RE: Curtis family members
Hello there :)

You are most welcome. I'm happy to be able to contribute to this fantastic website.

I have been trying to hunt down the parents of Thomas H Curtis 128299722. His kids led me to the website & your posts. Glad I could provide a few more details.

I can't find a public record for the death date of Mar. 23, 1889 for Thomas - is it from his cemetery record or tombstone?

Thomas & Hannah had another son, Thomas H.
His marriage certificate lists his parents
https://familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:FL8M-SHG
He & his wife are living in Orange, MA is 1940 census https://familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:K4XR-HSV

If I come across more information I will keep sending the edits or linking people.

Take care & thanks for the message,
Kevin

Phebe's obit
Oh, thank you for the obituary, too! I didn't see it until after I had transferred her memorial to you, so I can't add it now. Sorry, but I am glad to have it for my own genealogy. You are a research whiz!

Thank You
Just wanted to thank you for transferring the Memorial of my maternal great-grandmother, Rosina Elizabeth Goodale Cook (104602684) to me yesterday. I will be visiting the cemetery in Ashfield, MA this fall. [I will ask you for one more, that of Rosina's husband, my great grandfather, but will send the official request using the Edit tab.] Please let me know if there is ever anything I can do for you.
