Bio

I WILL TRANSFER if the person is not related to me or my husbands family.

Dennis and I were married at Duncan Memorial Chapel in Crestwood, Ky on April 10, 1971. We moved back to where we love, Portland-Shippingport in Louisville, Ky. We are two blocks from the Portland Cemetery and about 13 blocks from St. John's Cemetery aka St. Mary's. We live next to what was The Church of Our Lady's, which will always be that to me, but they changed it to The Good Shepherd because of the merger of three churches, St. Anthony, St. Cecilia and Our Lady's. Our Lady's would be the oldest Catholic Church in Louisville had it not burned down in the mid 1800's, some of the original bricks were used in the rebuilding of this church, it is now again, close to 180 years old. It has a cathedral ceiling and is absolutely gorgeous.

I got into Genealogy hot and heavy upon losing Moma in 2001 (I am an only child who could not have children). Dad passed away at age 66 in 1990. Dad was Irish/Catholic - Charles James "Jim", "Jimmy" Delahanty, he was born and raised in the Portland area of Louisville, Ky. (Shippingport). Moma was raised in the Portland Area as well. She was Scottish Presbyterian, Mary Louise Duncan Delahanty.

My Delahanty line goes (Upon them coming to the USA in the 1850's: Johanna Sheehan/John Edward O'Connell, John Edward Delahanty/Mary Agnes "Mamie" O'Connell, John Edward, Delahanty,II/Stoll, Catherine "Katie", Charles "Carl" Edward Delahanty/Margaret Estelle Fahey, Charles James "Jim" Delahanty/Mary Louise Duncan, Linda Louise Delahanty/Dennis Dale Schrader. MY GREAT-GRANDMA FAHEY WAS A "VOLPERT", WHICH WAS ORIGINALLY JEWISH.

The Surnames (Blood and/or Marriage) are: Delahanty, Sheehan, O'Connell, Fahey, Harrison, Curry, Murphy, Gebhart, Bauer, Risinger/Reisinger, Heiss, Swearingen, Greathouse, Ford, Bell (On Grandma Duncan's side and on Grandpa Duncan's side.) McConochie, Beam, Strother, Slaughter, Martine, Spaulding, Daniel, Lynam, McCloskey, Younger, Coleman, Reed, Reid, Bush, Cheney (no joke, lol), Lichleiter, Stoll, Bates, Maddox, Balfour, Lewis, Berkley, Searles, Stone, O'Stoney, Shipp, Muldoon, Shain, Duvall, Michal, Wilhelm, Meyer, Stapleton, Monfort, Bickel, Scheidel, Moore, Kiesler, Mann, Marr, Sans, Butner, and more.
