Hi Joan, Thanks so much for taking the excellent photo of Pfc Collett's grave. He was killed in action during a small unit patrol action on the Anzio Beachhead. I noticed that his date of birth on his draft registration is earlier than his actual date of birth. He fibbed about his age, so that he could enlist. I also notice that his gravestone says he died on 23 March 1944, but according to all other records including his parent's declaration on his Pennsylvania veteran compensation form, he actually died on 21 March 1944. This is the first incorrect death date on a gravestone of a Company A soldier that I have found (I've found 186 out of 220 KIA so far). Thanks again! James
