BEATITUDES OF THE FAMILY GENEALOGIST|
Blessed are the great grandmothers, who hoarded newspaper clippings and old letters, for they tell the story of their time.
Blessed are all the grandfathers who filed every legal document, for this provides proof.
Blessed are grandmothers who preserve family Bibles and diaries, for this is our heritage.
Blessed are father who elect officials that answer letter of inquiry, for some, this is their only link to the past.
Blessed are mothers who relate family traditions and legends to the family, for one of her children will surely remember.
Blessed are the relatives who fill in family sheets with extra data, for them we owe the family history.
Blessed is any family whose members strive for the preservation of records, for theirs is a labour of love.
Blessed are the children who will never say, "Grandma, you have told that old story twice today."

|Nancy||S.R. Finklea / S.R. Finklea Sr.|
Hello, I've been connecting the dots on my Meeks family. My g'mother's twin sister Effie Mae Meeks married John Hanna Finklea, son of S. R. Finklea (1833 - 1910) & Louisiana Spiller Finklea (1866 - 1961) - which doesn't mesh with the note left on the memorial for S.R. Finklea - where S.R. md(1) to Louisiana Spillers & (2) to Carrie Lee Spillers. So, I looked for more info via google. - - - I don't know how one Barbara J. Frost connects to the Finkleas & Spillers, but here's that family info. on her website: http://beejay1.tripod.com/pafg386.htm - - - Can you give me more info / source? Thanks, much appreciated.

|Cherie Gardner Rawlings||Lou Jones and Johnnie should be Bonner|
according to this source:
FHL-SLC 976.3 B2gr Vol 13-14 Louisiana Genealogical Register Vol 14 Sep 1967 p43 Cook Cemetery submitted by Mrs Melvin B Short Monroe, LA who wrote: The following are all on one headstone, in one grave: Memory of Johnnie, born 7 Jan 1868, died 20 Jan 1869; Lou Jones, born 11 May 1869, died 23 May 1869; and 2 unnamed infants, children of Dr. William and Louisa Bonner.
|Mike Teague||Nancy Peradine Sexton Teague|
Could someone tell me the ancestry of Nancy Teague Find A Grave 16717197. There is a daughter of William M Teague named Nancy Teague who married John Goodnight I believe who later died around 1930 or 1940. Could this Nancy be the same Nancy?
|S T :)||Thank you for your lovely work|

|Al Robinson||Cottons, Bennett, Colemans, Myers and Ballards|
My name is Al Robinson and I am a descendant to all of the names listed above. Mostly from Louisiana and Georgia. Contact me if you think we have a mutual interest.
I don't think I have ever introduced myself so thought I would do so now. My line is...
William Burks Sr
Elisha Burks & Patience Dunston
George Abner Burks & Nancy Mobley
William Henry Burks & Rachel Elizabeth Cates
Samuel Walter Burks & Minnie A Stephens
Rachel Elizabeth Burks Sizemore, my maternal grandmother.
I've linked all my ancestors up George Abner. I know Elisha & Patience died in Henry Co GA but I'm not sure when or where they might be buried. My best guess would be that they rest on old family property.
You can find links to my ancestors, and many photos of them, by clicking on the links on my bio page.
