I am a member of Daughters of the American Revolution, the Jamestowne Society, Descendants of the Signers of the Declaration of Independence, the National Huguenot Society, and the Colonial Dames of the 17th Century. I just love researching family histories. I taught Jr. High English in the public schools for fourteen years. I was an Elementary Counselor and a librarian for fifteen years. |
I would love your contributions to the pages I've added. I especially want pictures of the people I have listed here. I am taking pictures of all the tombstones in my area in order to preserve family histories for future generations, especially those who wish to join DAR and other societies. I want to honor these people and truly wish for them to be "Gone but Not Forgotten." I want to create a page for each person with pictures and biographical information. My DAR webpage is at www.mssdar.org/noahcole.

|The Irish Lady||Mount Pisgah Cemetery - Wesley Barnhart|
Many thanks for getting his headstone onto Find A Grave. I love to see Barnhart stones since I can't get there in person.
I wonder if you'd allow me to use the picture in the family research, with credit of course?

|B Dearborn||Trent OR Trout|
Find A Grave Memorial# 152604846 has the maiden name for the wife of Charles Young as Trout instead of Trent. I have never found a marriage for someone of that name. Does someone have a copy of the original marriage bond to show the name is misspelled? Also her marriage is listed as happening 12 March 1812, which would make her only 12 years old! Some ancestry trees reverse the year to read 1821. I'm thinking someone must have seen the original to come up with this. Any help in straightening this out is appreciated. Billie

I just found this online. Thot you might be interested: http://www.slcl.org/content/local-history-indexes-fee-fee-baptist-church-st-louis
|Dolores J. Rush||Jane Sullins|
Is there a primary document source that names her as Jane (Gill) Sullins recorded in the DAR database?
Maude Hoffman's book says Virginia Childress was born c. 1735 in South Carolina. John married her in North Carolina c. 1760. Her family, a prominent and wealthy South Carolina family, was displeased by her marriage and disinherited her, but she was reconciled with her father before he died. Maude's co-researcher [Melva Sullens Taylor (65932999)]. Maude's source for this information was from the book called "As A Tree Planted: A Sketch Written for the Centennial for the Fee Fee Baptist Church of St. Louis, MO." Pamela Clark Musick (171365374), a grand-daughter of John & Jane's is the source for the information on the Sullins in the Fee Fee Baptist church book.
And it is Anna B. Sartori, "Among My Pioneer Ancestors."

We've been to Thomas Musick's gravesite, but weren't sure where John and Jane Sullins were buried. You have Louisiana, but St. Louis and Bridgeton are in present day Missouri.
I found this about Thomas on a Waymarking site = http://www.waymarking.com/waymarks/WM9DW_Thomas_Roy_Musick
My husband owns Maude Sullens Hoffman's book, "Peter Sullens and Mary Carson and Two Hundred Years of Descendants." That's where I obtained my information that Jane was actually Virginia Childress.

Hi, you posted a picture of her grave in Summersville Cemetery (Missouri). I have discovered she is m biological mother. Are you related to her?
|A Poynter McDaniel||RE: Mellott|
We must be related too. Hester J Mellott was my great, great grandmother. The Find a Grave is great for paying tribute to our family and for letting us attach information that can be very helpful to other family members.
Thank you again for your work on Find a Grave.

|Dan Woodruff||RE: Houston Research|
I do not have her in my database but I will check with another Houston Researcher so see what she has.
|Sheila Wood||Harvey Kimrey|
I have worked on this name all morning and now it is afternoon. The Harvey Leon Kimrey does not belong to Calvin E. Kimrey and Catherine "Katie" J. Haley Kimrey. Harvey Leon Kimrey obit on Find A Grave has his mother as Cora Sliger and two brothers our Harvey Thomas Kimrey didn't have.
Our Harvey Thomas Kimrey is buried in Pilot Knob Cemetery, Texas Co. They only use his middle inital on the Military stone. So Harvey Leon Kimrey has the wrong parents on Find A Grave. Sorry Linda. You do such good work, and I couldn't figure this one out for awhile. Sheila
