I am a member of Daughters of the American Revolution, the Jamestowne Society, Descendants of the Signers of the Declaration of Independence, the National Huguenot Society, and the Colonial Dames of the 17th Century. I just love researching family histories. I taught Jr. High English in the public schools for fourteen years. I was an Elementary Counselor and a librarian for fifteen years. |
I would love your contributions to the pages I've added. I especially want pictures of the people I have listed here. I am taking pictures of all the tombstones in my area in order to preserve family histories for future generations, especially those who wish to join DAR and other societies. I want to honor these people and truly wish for them to be "Gone but Not Forgotten." I want to create a page for each person with pictures and biographical information. My DAR webpage is at www.mssdar.org/noahcole.

|The Irish Lady||Liberty Cemetery - Bertha and Cecil Foster|
Many thanks for getting the headstone for these relatives onto Find A Grave. I was excited to find it.
I wonder if you'd allow me to use the pic in the family research, with credit of course?

|Janice Tappana||George Washington Cooper|
Just wondering if you have the documentation for the birth and death dates of George Washington Cooper (mem # 144329909)? He is my 3rd great grandfather.
|Marcy Hammers||Bethel Cemetery, Summersville, MO.|
I am trying to find directions to the Bethel Cemetery in Summersville, Texas County, Missouri to go see my ancestors tombstone & take pictures.
I have tried to use the google maps & it says it can't find it.
Do you by chance have an address for the cemetery or know who I can contact to figure out directions to the cemetery. My ancestors are the Green Berry Brown family.
|Shelly||Clyde W. Cobine - # 55530522|
I wanted to thank you for the photo of the grave stone of Clyde W. Cobine that you placed on his memorial. I'm wondering if you would grant me permission to use your photo on my Ancestry.com file for him ... I have no interest in the photo for anything other than genealogical purposes and give credit to the photographer in the photo description.
Thanks for your consideration.

Just looked at my genealogy program, and someone has listed Ann as Sarah Ann who marries Oliver Columbus Barnes. Married 2nd, Elijah Mobley. Her Find A Grave #: 181152170
Sorry, if Ann (your Mary ANN), who appears in the 1870 Census with Isaac and Nancy Hankins Phillips (first wife), is your ancestor, I have no information to add. My descendant is from Isaac's 2nd marriage to Nancy Dailey Crawford.
If you would like to write up a bio for Roscoe, I would be happy to add it.
I don't, however, favor adding lines of data from Ancestry.
|D. DeClue G.||memorial #130901690 for Francis DeClue|
Oh, dear, I just reread the message I just sent you and it might be too much info and confusing. I am hoping you will correct his wife Sarah's death date to 1856 so she will no longer be mistaken for his broher Paul DeClue's wife Sarah who actually did die in 1910 documented by a death certificate.
Also, thank you for your generosity of doing all the work you have done on Find A Grave.
|D. DeClue G.||memorial # 130901690 Francis Paul DeClue|
I am writing to provide a correction of info on Franncis (Francois) DeClue, whose memorial is listed for you on Find A Grave. In his memorial you note that his wife Sarah died in 1910. He was married to Sarah Ann Jackson (1821-1856) This Sarah was daughter of Wm P Jackson and Jenny Sallee. She did not die in 1910.
The date of 1910 comes from the death certificate for the wife of Francis's brother, Paul Joseph DeClue (1922-1872) who married Sarah Ann Garrett (1831-1910.) She was daughter of Mahala Hamilton Garrett Jackson and John Garrett.
A lot of mis-info is out on ancestry trees because the two Sarahs were married to brothers and besides that, they were step-sisters; Sarah Ann Garrett's mother married Sarah Ann Jackson's father. So i can see how it hav caused a lot of confusion.
My father was raised by George DeClue, whose mother was Sarah Ann Garrett DeClue (the one who really died in 1910) so the info I have is pretty good on our family and Dad had some records.
I hope you will consider correcting the Find A Grave memorial for Francis DeClue based on this info and that it will help anyone looking at these folks there to keep the brothers and their wives separated.
Sincerely, D. DeClue

May I please post your photo of this headstone on my Ancestry page? I will, of course, give you credit! Thanks for all you are doing for Find-A-Grave, and for genealogy research in general!
