Hi!! My name is Alice. I have been doing genealogy since about 1981. It is something that my mom and I always did together. Always had a great time traveling to the different cemeteries and taking pictures of headstones and spending as many hours as they would let us at the county courthouses transcribing any record we could find that was relevant to who we were searching for that day.
I found this site a few years ago. Forgot about it. Found it again two years ago, I think. Through this site I was able to find my Great-great-great grandfather Isaac Kitzmiller, who I had been searching for almost as long as I have been doing genealogy!! What a very exciting day that was. That is why I became a contributing member of Find a Grave. Hopefully, because of me someone else will find a long lost family member.

RE: Corrections
Hi Alice~

The death certificates are from Ancestry.com, of which I have a membership.

When a contributor passes away generally the Find A Grave administrators take over. Laura Plummer Ranville died who did a lot of Manistee graves and hers are taken care of that way.

Memorial # 135976061 Louise Voelker. I don't see her attached to August as a wife. Only as a child.

RE: Raatz
I'm not sure how many of those other Raatz memorials are part of our family....but chances are, they're related somehow. So, if you want to transfer them over, go ahead.

Hi Alice,

I received your suggested edits (date/place of birth, date of death, names of parents) for the memorial above. Would you please provide the source(s) of your information?

Thank you for keeping Find A Grave an accurate and valuable genealogical tool!

Laura

PS: If you are related to James, please let me know how. I would be happy to transfer his memorial to a family member.

RE: Raatz
Hi. I can't remember whether Julius & Wilhelmine are on the same stone as Albert & Caroline..that picture was from a while ago. Some of the names were added go the stone recently by one of Albert's descendants. She determined who was buried in the plots based on the church burial records.
Herman and Emilie REMUS (not Diemus) are the children of Caroline (Raatz) and Daniel Remus. Caroline was the daughter of Gottlieb and Elizabeth (Mieschke) Raatz, sister to Julius Raatz. Herman and Emilie are not married, they are brother and sister.... Herman was only 13 years old, Emilie 18.
The cemetery records were re-created based on the stones because the original records were somehow destroyed.
Let me know if you have any other questions.
