Bio and Links
Bio Photo My interest in Find A Grave began while researching my family history. After creating memorials for my ancestors and extended family, I added information from obituaries in old extant newspapers.

For the past few years my focus has been on taking headstone photos. I am currently playing catch-up, editing and adding pictures I took in 2015 and 2016.

Like you, I am a volunteer. I participate in this labor of love because I believe it's an important part of our history.

I will gladly update any memorial in my care with a sourced request. Simply share a few details about how you know something to be true when you submit an edit (using the edit tabs please).

Inside voices and good manners are very much appreciated.

Hi, the source for her name is the Cook County Illinois Marriage Index. You can also look it up via FHL Film # 1030125. Yes, I'm related. Thanks.

RE: Susan Konen
Death certificate is available on familysearch.org. Informant for same, William McLaughlin, was Susan's son-in-law. Susan Figenshue married John Konen Stark County Ohio 1885 Jan 27 [available in familysearch.org]. 1880 census has Susan living with her sister and brother-in-law, Mary and Joseph Krebs, in Canton Stark Ohio along with their children, his mother, and Susan's brothers john and Joseph [available familysearch.org]. Mary's death certificate states that parents are 'Figenshul' and Rose Brutcher [available familysearch.org]. 1870 census Susan is enumerated with her mother and siblings Flora, John, William and Joseph. Last name misspelled as 'Fickenshew'; sister Flora enumerated as 'Laura' [available familysearch.org]. In the obituary for Susan's brother she is named as Mrs J.J. Konen. Susan's husband and brother were business partners in Canton Ohio and Joseph died while living with Susan and John. [Canton Repository, Canton Stark OH] 1897 March 30 page 1; available on genealogybank.com. The family's obituaries published only name spouses and children with the exception of Joseph's. No obituary was published for Susan in the Canton Ohio newspaper as she was the last of that family to pass on.

I hope I have provided enough verifiable sources. Susan is not a relation of mine. Her sister, Mary, married into one of the branches of my family.

Thank you for not just automatically accepting edits. I also try to be as correct as possible along with providing as much information on the person posted as possible.

RE: Herman and Natalie Frieder
My wife is related to both of them. Herman is her Father in law of 1st cousin 3x removed, Natalie is her mother in law of 1st cousin 3x Removed.

Both Herman and Natalie immigrated from Germany to America on different ships from the port of Hamburg in Germany. The births are from passenger lists, marriage list and other documents found on ancestry.com
