Bio and Links
Most of my ancestors were early settlers of Kentucky who migrated from Virginia and Maryland.
Direct line surnames on my father's side include Holsclaw, Snawder, Harshfield, McDaniel, Buckman, Jones, Paulley, and Collins. My father's ancestors settled in Nelson, Bullitt, and Hardin Counties. Some family members later moved to Jefferson County.
Direct line surnames on my mother's side include Dennis, Taylor, Logsdon, Haycraft, Atterberry, Elliott, Wells, Richardson, Saltsman, and Craddock. My mother's ancestors settled in Grayson, Hart, Larue, and Hardin Counties. Some family members later moved to Jefferson County. A few wayward family members crossed the river and settled in Floyd and Harrison Counties in Indiana.

I also like to take time to pay respect and honor all veterans when I visit cemeteries in my area.

Richard F. Hamilton
Hi Doug-

I just wanted to say "thank you" again for the transfer of the memorial for my great grand uncle Richard F. Hamilton, Civil War Veteran, born in 1838. Memorial #56702021 with burial in Bardstown Cemetery.

I have been adding information now and then, and still have not found burial place for his wife Cate (Cheshire) Hamilton. I did see an ancestry tree that said she died in 1929 - but am not sure that is correct yet.

I just want you to know how much I appreciate the transfer and am continuing to update his memorial as I find information. The cemetery did not have information on his death date or burial date. So I continue to look for an approximate date. His neighbor purchased more plots in the cemetery in 1890, so I wonder if he died about 1890.

Thank you!

Wilson-Snawder Cemetary
Hi there! I am researching my husband's family - Reardon/Rarden/Rearden - and came across a bunch of his relatives on Find A Grave. I was wondering if the Wilson-Snawder cemetary is accessible? Is it on private property? We are in town visiting my in-laws until early Wednesday and would love to pay our respects before then. Thank you!

I saw the picture you took of the Wilson-Snawder Cemetery and I was wondering where it is located? Is it on private property? How can I get to it? - Fellow Snawder descendant.

Acme Cemetery picture

You had taken the one picture that is on Find a Grave for Acme Cemetery in Jackson County, IN. There's a building in the picture. Could you tell me if that is a church, and if so, what is the name of the church? My great-grandfather is buried in the cemetery and I don't know whom to speak to about burials at Acme. Thank you!

Find a Grave photos
I am writing a two-volume book on the 8th Indiana. I would like to include photos of the soldiers and their headstones with their biographies. I would like to use some of your photos in the book and will give you credit in the caption for each photo. If you are interested, I can let you know when the book is published. If it is ok to use your photos, could you also give me your first and last name for the captions?

Daniel Keith #68640288
Daniel Keith was kin to my Floyd County, Virginia cousins. Two people besides you have entered him in findagrave. One has him in Grandview Cemetery with a photo of Kasey Cemetery. Does this cemetery have two names?

Hello. I am seeking permission to reprint your photo of the Elder grave marker at memorial #28090988, to illustrate an article about Sgt. J. Elder in the research journal of the Fresno County Genealogical Society. Thanks in advance for your consideration, and thanks also for your contributions to Find A Grave.
