Bio and Links
Bio Photo I have been researching my family history since I was a young girl, so I have acquired an extensive amount of documents and photos. And I am delighted Findagrave has allowed everyone to have a free memorial page, which has given us a valuable genealogical site. I am happy to share my records and photos on Findagrave. We do not want those who have gone before us to be forgotten with photos and data hidden in boxes where no one has access to them. So far I have added over 500 photos, and now I see most of them being copied and used in family trees on and other historical databases. My photos have been cropped and fixed before being posted, so I KNOW that I am the original source.
Please add, "Photo provided by Lucy Simpson and posted on" Also a note of thanks is appreciated.

For the most part, I have posted memorials and photos for relatives and ancestors. See my Virtual Cemeteries for my families. Also, I encourage others to add to findagrave, take photos, request photos and honor relatives with memorials.

Edits and corrections are welcomed. I want to transfer memorials to relatives or others who are interested in "maintaining them, by adding more photos and data. I think this a true remembrance of our relatives and friends, and I will add more photos, stories, obituaries, documents, etc. to memorials as time permits. This is a work in progress.

"The Chosen" Author Unknown
"We are the chosen. In each family there is one who seems called to find the ancestors. To put flesh on their bones and make them live again. To tell the family story and to feel that somehow they know and approve…. It goes beyond just documenting facts. It goes to who am I and why do I do the things I do. It goes to seeing a cemetery about to be lost forever to weeds and indifference and saying I can't let this happen….. So, as a scribe called, I tell the story of my family. It is up to that one called in the next generation to answer the call and take my place in the long line of family storytellers. That is why I do my family genealogy, and that is what calls those young and old to step up and restore the memory or greet those who we had never known before."

I have made many new friends from this great site. People who want to walk around cemeteries are an amazing group. I have many stories about the terrific people and incredible data I have received from people who look at or work on this site. For example, there was question about the death date of an ancestor. Finally, a wonderful person wrote to me about an ancestor's grave site, which had no tombstone, and she asked if I wanted her to post a picture of the "grassy spot." where his grave was located. My answer was yes and, she put a flag in the middle of the spot and posted the picture. Then she asked if I wanted a copy of the obituary that she had found. I was elated and after receiving it, I learned why the death date was questionable. The family left him on the ranch and went on vacation for a month, and when they returned they found he had died on the front porch—so when did he die? This posting enabled me and others after researching his Civil War Record to obtain a military tombstone. We had the installation ceremony in 2013.

Thank all of you who have added to Findagrave, to my memorials and to my genealogical findings. God bless you!

Looking closer at the two cemeteries you mentioned. They are two totally different cemeteries. (You can tell by the photos of the cemetery signs.)

I've physically have been to both photographing. What I will do is change the people in the Hope Congregational burial site to the "Hope Lutheran (old Stone) because someone placed them in the wrong cemetery and delete mine.

I dont know how old that message was but I know you can transfer a site many times. But I believe the only person who can delete the site is the original person because I had a duplicate and couldnt delete it. It had to go back to the original person.
thanks for the message
Love Find a grave and work on it several hours a day sometimes

RE: Lee & Glass photos
The photos that are posted are the only markers we could find/dig up. We did the best we could with a small shovel and some strength for 70ish year old people. We don't live in KY., but stopped at this cemetery to find my Blair relatives, which we didn't find either. I believe there are many other markers that are either under other ones laying down or are now buried under a layer of leaves/dirt. It would be a great project for some organization to clean it up....markers could be laid against something to display and be read. Where the markers are now has nothing to do with where they were actually buried except for maybe the large crypts. I assume, based on the list of 65 buried there, that at one time, the cemetery was maintained and a survey was done to record the burials; that would be impossible now. Here's hoping some day someone/organization will take it under their wings to clean up; it really wouldn't take but a couple of days of 20 people each day, as there are no large trees to cut down.

Louis Simpson

I have been given some photos of my Father and his WWII buddies. One of them is identified as Louis Simpson - Iowa. Wondering if you could confirm that the Louis Simpson that you have a memorial for is the same man? You can e-mail me at and I will send you a copy. I would like to post it to his memorial.
