Louisa Caldwell
I am a descendent of Theodore Thurston Sickles, Louisa's older brother. Could you tell me how you know that she had the nickname "Aunt Lew." Are you a relative?

Many thanks.

RE: Samuel Caldwell Obituary
Thank you very much for the source of the Tribute/Obituary for Samuel. You should be able to go back to his Memorial and edit the caption with that data.

Thanks again!

Samuel Caldwell Obituary
I wonder if you could tell me the source of the obituary you added to the Samuel Caldwell (1830-1865) Memorial #22911950. Do you have the name of the newspaper, city of publication and date?

Thank you for your time and consideration.

Las Vegas, NV

Thank you so much for sending the edit on Cyril. Evidently I entered the birth location for the death. Regardless, I've accepted your edits and am processing. I just wanted you to know that I am logging additional information to his memorial, including his full name, if you care to add anything else.

Many thanks and Kindest regards,

RE: Samuel Caldwell

Thanks so much for contacting me. My family records indicate Samuel is buried at Centre Cemetery. I have many more Caldwell family members buried there in unmarked graves.

I will go over my Caldwell records again to make sure.

RE: Re-John White- 81931737
Claire, If you have a photo of the original old stone, not the one that was fixed, please add it to John & Keziah's memorial pages. I posted clips of both "History" books, the 1880 & 1917 publications.
In my opinion,if John was one of my direct line relative's,I might be more inclined to think the 1880 book was more accurate then the 1917 book. But since those books were written by subscription, meaning the people listed in them paid a fee to the authors to have their families written in the books,so depending on who paid the money, their opinion would take precedence, whether the information is accurate or not. The books themselves really can't be used as a primary source...especially since each book contradicts the other book where it pertains to John's birth date. Does everyone in the current White family, who is actively researching the family agree on the changed birth year? If everyone or at least the majority of those folks agree with each other?
If they do,I'll change the dates but I will also note the original dates seen on the 1st original stone and the 1st newer stone...because the books contradict each other and the books are,to my knowledge, the only things that give any dates. There are many White family researchers out there and they all will decide, hopefully,on what they want to accept as fact or take an educated guess at. We've worked together in the past and I think we can come to some way to reflect what is known about these 2 pioneers here in Punxsutawney. I just wish that there were more records to look at,which is a drawback to many of the really old burials all over. Email me if you want to talk some more on this. Marianne
