Ashea Lanning Reed
Message you sent me Mrs. Lanning's daughter - Ashea Lanning Reed is FindAGrave Memorial #36668480.

I can't add Ashea Lanning Reed to Marcy Lanning's Memorial, you need to request that from Deana Henry she has her memorial. Have her add Ashea Lanning Reed's Mother Marcy Lanning Memorial number 84161174. I can add Mother's, Father's, and Husband's, but not children. The only way I can add children is if I put the memorial on Find A Grave myself.

Can not link brother & sisters without a parent to link to. I did however put a note on the memorial. Tom

The only edit I was able to make was adding James Alexander Reed as Lavina's 1st husband. The other edits need to be made from the children's page and I do not maintain those. Use the edit tab to send the parental links on those pages.

RE: The Hatcher Family
I just googled David J Hatcher and there's a Hatcher Family Assn that popped right up and there he was - with my great-grandparents - so that will be him. One down, 2 to go. Jen

RE: The Hatcher Family
Hi Stella,
Thank you so much and again, there's absolutely no hurry on this. I've looked at that other David J Hatcher memorial, but I don't have enough info to prove that he's related. The only possible connection I have is that my father's will was signed by the witnesses in Albuquerque. There's nothing on my copy to tell me where it was drawn up and who the attorney was. I hope to get better at this as I continue reading genealogy books from the library. Thanks again, Jen

The Hatcher Family
Hi again Stella,
I was wondering if I could ask another huge favor of you. You had mentioned that you saw some Hatcher graves near where you took the pictures of my grandparents (Brown's) graves. I still cannot find 3 of my grandmother's siblings and I'm wondering if you'd be willing to take a look again next time you're in Greenwood.

I'm missing Robert Coleman Hatcher (1893 - 1922), Arthur H Hatcher (1897 - ?), and David J Hatcher (1902 - ?). I'm sort of wondering if Arthur and David died as children. I know that Robert married and had at least 1 son, a Jr. There is absolutely no hurry. I appreciate it very much. Thanks. Jen

RE: Greenwood
Hi Stella,

Thanks, that is good to know about the app. I wasn't sure about getting it, but now I think I should. That GPS feature is quite handy. I was at Mom's today and she thanks you very much for the pictures. She's in agreement with me that we need to have her Billy's grave repaired and when I told her that you'd volunteered to take a new picture after the repair, I could see her physically relax. Thanks for the offer to take pics of the nearby Hatchers. I'm not sure who they are yet, but it's very likely they're relatives as they seem to be a prolific group. I will keep you posted as I make progress. Thanks again for your help. Jen

RE: Greenwood
Hi Stella,

Thank you so very much for the pictures of my family's graves. I am very appreciative of your time and effort. I love that you also included a picture of everyone in the plot. Awesome!

Thank you also for entering them for me. Having never done this before, I wasn't sure if I was supposed to do it from your emails or if you do it. Is that how it's usually done? I've been thinking about becoming a photo volunteer and paying this forward. Also, how were you able to enter the GPS info?

I forwarded your email on to Mom, but she hasn't said anything, so I imagine she's processing the information and will talk about it in time.

I will send an email to the cemetery tonight to find out how to have my brother's grave repaired. Thanks so much. Jen

RE: Greenwood
Stella - I do not have the words to properly thank you for the pictures you sent today. Thank you so much. I can hardly wait to show Mom and am glad that the cemetery looks well cared for. I'll contact Greenwood to find out how to repair and rename brother Billy's grave. Thank you! Thank you!

RE: Welcome
Thank you so much. This plot contains my grandfather - Marion McFarland Brown, my grandmother - Mary Mozelle Hatcher, their oldest child - William Monroe Brown (who was hit by a car and killed), and I'd forgotten about their stillborn daughter (Mary Ellen? 1938?). According to the info that Greenwood very kindly sent to me, Mozelle and William Monroe are buried together and the rest are next to them.

Who I'm most interested in is my mother's first child - William Jack Brown - 1955. Back story - Billy was 5 1/2 months old when he died of a heart problem. My mother and father lived in San Diego where my father (never met him and only talked to him a few times) was stationed in the Navy. Billy died and his body was sent from San Diego to Montgomery to be buried with his grandfather. Turns out he wasn't,exactly, but at least we've found him. Mom couldn't attend because they didn't have the money to go and then after the divorce, she brought us back to the Pacfic Northwest where we've stayed. So, she's never seen his grave and until I started this search, never really knew where he was. All she has is a newspaper clipping that is not very helpful.

So, thank you for doing this. Mom is almost 83 years old now, and your pictures will fill an almost 60-yr-old void in her heart. No pressure. :) Thank you.
