Bio

My maternal Dean ancestors come from Jacob Dean's line out of western Baltimore County. Many families who apparently knew each other in Maryland emigrated to Huntingdon county shortly after it became its own county, after the Revolutionary War.
Families included Greenlands, Chilcottes (spelled various ways) Lovealls (Lovells), Houcks, Saylors, Corbins, Postens.

On my paternal side, the Ralstons originated in Paisley, Scotland about 900 years ago. My ggg grandfather Dr William Ralston was educated in Glasgow, but emigrated to Indiana in 1825. One subset of the Ralstons then emigrated to Iowa in the mid-late 1800, where bretter farmland was available.

We are trying to track and trace all Ralstons, Roulstons, Rolstons, etc through the Ralston Surname Project, which is a volunteer-run organization that utilizes the tools and database of the Family Tree DNA company. ralstonproject.com
