I have worked as a newspaper photographer for 30 years. I have been actively researching my family's history since my grandmother told me that her grandfather fought at the Battle of Shiloh which is 65 miles from here. Being a photographer, finding recording/archiving of family photographs is very important to me. That includes grave markers. I have been photographing my family's grave markers for many years now. My family line includes, Mennonite, Quaker, Puritan, Scot, English, French, Swiss/German and Swedish.|

I have added the death certificate info to the memorial. Let me know if you would like to take over management of your family member.

I read her marriage record as Pike but it could very well be Fike: https://familysearch.org/pal:/MM9.3.1/TH-1-17957-38904-86?cc=1614804
She is not related to me so I didn't keep her obit. Obits can be ordered for $3.00 each from the Hayes Presidential Center Library: http://index.rbhayes.org/hayes/index/record_detail.asp?id=116708

no worries. i am more than happy to do this for my fellow family of genealoigists, we need to stick together and help each other out. my bigger issue now is that withint 3 months i got a job and a promotion so my time is soooo limited, the only days off i get are days i spend with my fiance or go to columbus to get shots in my back so yeah cemetery hopping is not something i can do freely as much as i used to do. but i will do what i can when i can :) i PROMISE! :)

I have been searching the older section of the graveyard and I have not come across this grave, I have walked the entire yard in that section, But i have and will not give up, i am always unable to catch the guy in the office to see where the grave would be but i will not give up! :)

Do you know if Ethel Lindberg is related to Bjorn Lindberg, both in Linwood cemetery in Galesburg?
Matt--Tried to e-mail you the obituary at the aol e-mail address but couldn't, my server said, "No matches found."
If you still want it, please let me know how to get it to you. It's quite lengthly and has lots of information in it--military, business, groups he belonged to etc. Carolyn

When I tried to add the obit to the memorial, I couldn't because it said the max pics have been added to the memorial. I can e-mail you the obit and picture if you'd like. Let me know.

I am not related to him, I was looking up an obit for someone else and his was on the same page. It is an interesting obit w/a picture. I thought someone might be interested in it. And so you were. I will scan it and post it to his memorial.

Just spent a wonderful weekend traveling a stretch of the old Lincoln Highway which brought my husband & I through Sparta. Since I'm a contributor to find-a-grave, it's a given that we stop at the sighting of any cemetery. I only took a few photos of which 2 were Mawhorter'. I had to tell you how excited I was to see your ancestors photos & read a bit about them. I'm very pasionate about those who worked so hard to settle in this country & fight for our freedoms.
Good luck with your genealogy research.
