|I have a passion for anything old; antiques, histories of old communities, and especially old cemeteries. The more I photograph and transcribe them, mainly in Nevada County, California, the more I learn about the people. That is what is most fascinating to me. I have a Bachelors Degree in History and hope to continue to photograph the old headstones for many years to come. I believe in preserving the old cemeteries and documenting the markers left by old pioneers.|

You asked about where I am in Pennsylvania. I'm not too close to Schuylkill County--I am just northeast of Philadelphia, in Bucks County. Glad you were able to make a family history visit to PA!

Thanks so much for your response, Kat. If you could email me a copy of Charles Phelps's funeral record, that would be most appreciated! Thank you for your time, and I hope you are having a good Independence Day weekend.

Today I saw your memorial for Charles Phelps, buried in Brome Centre Cemetery in Quebec. Charles is my gr-gr grandfather, and his gravestone is actually located in the Fairmount Cemetery in Sutton, Quebec, with memorial # 58264572. I was very interested in your note about Charles, and that you had found a funeral record for him in Nevada City. Charles Phelps moved to California in the 1860's and was a miner for the rest of his life. When he died in 1903, I think his daughter, my great grandmother, moved his body from Nevada Co to Quebec to be buried with his wife. So, I have always been interested in that process. I would really like to see the funeral record that you found at the library. Do you know if they have a policy of making copies for people who cannot get to the library? I am in Pennsylvania, and know that I will never be able to visit that part of the country. Thanks for any assistance you can pass on to me!

Please help me, what did you "discover" that she died in Contra Costa? It was so long ago when her memorial was entered, and I don't remember how I found her death information.

Hi again, Kat. I just read your bio, and wanted you to know that I live in Truckee, so if you ever need me to look something up for you, please let me know. I photographed the Boca cemetery, and was trying to do a little genealogy research on the people buried there. Just having trouble with this particular family. Don't know if you know that the fire went through here last year. I haven't had the nerve to go up and see the damage, but will this summer.
