Sorry to say many burial grounds in Charleston have been built over and no records ever made,other than the city death records, most were old salts and paupers.|
Family names researching, Kanapaux, Griser, Brunson, Keegan. All these families are from Charleston, SC.
I am a Real Great-Grandaughter of Capt. John T. Kanapaux, CSA and great- niece to his four brothers that also served.
Please ask permission before "borrowing" my family photo's. I worked very hard and hundreds of hours to obtain bio's, obit's and photo's. If permission is given you must give credit where it is due. I have found many on genealogy sites that have been STOLEN, not nice people.
I will happily transfer a memorial to a relative, (as long it's not my family member)
Please in your request include your member number, as I do not have time to try and located you on this site. Also if your request is to add information or connect family members you must include the correct memorial number(s). When correct info is provided your requests will be fulfilled ASAP

|Juanice Hess||RE: Douglas Garrison|
You are certainly welcome. I am glad I was able to find him for you. I realize there has to be a story behind each and every person in these mass graves. His is just one of the very few that already has a memorial. Is there any chance he was a veteran??
|Juanice Hess||Douglas C Garrison|
I have found the final resting place of Douglas Garrison. I sent an edit for the location in the cemetery which includes the GPS. I also posted a photo of the stone. I hope this helps.
If you have any questions, please feel free to ask.

Thanks so much for the edit. I also added the gravestone photo which I forgot to do way back when!

I'm wondering if this woman was the first wife of your relative...William John Mcgrath #35244341. If you look at Ellen's tombstone, it appears that she was married to William J Magrath.
I wonder if you could shed some light on this?

Thanks for all your hard work keeping all these cousins straight! Was wondering if you know if this William John McGrath as the husband of Ellen Julia Williman before he married your relative? Please see Findagrave ##27182700 to see his name on Ellen's tombstone. Maybe if you're local, you could check to make sure that I'm reading his name correctly.
Thanks for any assistance you can offer.

Yvonne, I can't thank you enough for the Santos grave photos in Holy Cross Cemetery on James Island. I even discovered one family member I had not known about. What a service volunteers like you do for people like me trying to fill in the gaps and keeping the family connected through the generations. Thank you again.
|Nathan Goodwin||James Dengate's grave|
Many many thanks for taking the photo of James and Helen Dengate's grave!
It was very kind of you!
|Nathan Goodwin||RE: photo request|
No worries - take your time! I'm grateful that you are willing to do it for me!
|Nathan Goodwin||RE: photo request|
I know of him...having travelled around the US in 2009 I happened upon Dengates in Charleston (lovely lovely place but sooo hot!). I had dinner in there then spent the afternoon in the local library trying to find out what I could about the family. Are you still in contact with anyone in the family? Thanks, Nathan
