I am working on my family tree and I have a passion to have a headstone picture for as many family members as possible. I am a cemetery trekker and I also try to take photos of people that maybe buried close to my relative. I also look to see if there are photo requests for a cemetery that I may be visiting and try to fulfill that request (If I can find the gravesite).
I have taken many photos and added memorials for people buried at Great Lakes National Cemetery in Holly, Michigan, as a pay it forward and out of respect to our veterans and hero's. If I have added a memorial for your loved one, please request a transfer as their memorials belong with their relatives.
I am doing this in loving memory of my mother and grandfather who started the path for me with their interest in genealogy.
Off I go to search and trek....

I'm sorry, I forgot to mention in my last note that I also added a photo of James' son, Charles 'Charley' Geweniger's headstone/marker also. Interesting that they both have the inscription "It ain't easy havin' pals". It must have some family significance. I sent edits to add the line as marker transcriptions for both memorials.
Have a good weekend!

What a delightful surprise to see the image of my cousin's military marker that you uploaded to his memorial page recently! On behalf of the family of James Hillaker in Great Lakes National Cemetery, your dedication to helping others with their genealogy is applauded and so much appreciated. My heart is full....Helen Murphy, Nashville, TN
Thank you so much for contributing a photo of my relative's military marker.
