Bio and Links
Bio Photo Find A Grave's mission is 'graves registration'.

Please specify your relationship when requesting transfers. Due to the growing popularity of the website I am no longer transfering outside the Findagrave guidelines.

Find-A-Grave Policy on Transfers

Transfer requests should be for direct relatives within four generations, this would be your siblings, parents, grandparents, and great-grandparents. Keep in mind that the original contributor may also be related to the memorial and may not want to make the transfer. Please use the edit button for transfer requests. Include your relationship and your member number.

I am always happy to make corrections and add links when asked.

Please, do NOT copy my photos to ancestry.com without giving me credit. Simply indicate " 2011-2017 Shirley Lance aka Forget Me Not on Find A Grave". I'd appreciate a note letting me know you have copied them. However, do NOT post them to other Find A Grave memorials. Just let me know and I will upload them. Use for commercial purposes is not allowed under any circumstances. However, it is okay with me for you to post my photos of your friends and families headstones on Facebook as long as you link it back to the Find A Grave memorial. You may use my photos on your own personal website if non-commercial, but photo credit is appreciated.
Remember that credit is required per copyright law and appreciated.

**Please use the new edit functions - you can easily enter DOB/DOD and Relationship link information and Plot locations, and then I can hit the Approve button. If you choose not to, it can take up to 30 days for me to make your edits.**
I am happy to update - Be assured anyone can use the EDIT or the photo upload function to add information.

Obituaries cannot be reprinted in it's entirety.

RE: obituary
If you will send me your e-mail address, I will send you the obituary for Ruth McGinnis. She should be linked to her parents and her deceased brothers and sisters graves and I have no idea how to do that, but I can tell you who they are and where they are buried.

Ruth McGinnis
I assumed that an obituary is public information. It is published in the newspaper. It is available at the library for people to read and print. The copy that I have shows the edition and date of the newspaper. Ruth is the daughter of my great Aunt, Lydia Cranfill Marley. I have been in contact with her family and have received several photos from them, and they are the ones who told me where she was buried. I see other obituaries printed on the memorials. I was told that as long as the obituary lists the newspaper it was published in, it was ok to place it on the memorial. The obituary certainly helps people who are searching for family.

RE: Radu Tudorica
You're very welcome, glad I could help. Lucia's death certificate only states born in Romania, no further detail.

Transfer of FAG #67156821 Pvt Henry Robertson
Some time ago you graciously transferred my maternal grandparents' memorials to me for maintenance. I would love to have Pvt Henry Robertson's memorial transferred (my dad). His memorial appears in your list of Virtual Cemetery Transfers but I'm not sure it was actually transferred to me.

Sure would appreciate you checking on this for me. Thanks.

Richard Harrison Memorial
I see that you have created Richard's memorial page.
Have you accepted stewardship of his created Find A Grave memorial pages?
My request is to have my husband's father, Orville Roscoe Deckard #68609803 transferred to me for maintenance.
Thank you.

RE: Charles Chitwood
Hi -

Thanks for asking. On Ancestry they have a photo of the same stone and it's labeled as 1909 - 1909. I do believe that's the actual date on this stone - it's just hard to read now. I also find his birth and death certificates. He was a son of Michael and Grace (Stevens) Chitwood. I'd be happy to send these to you if you give me an e-mail address.

Also, the first Chitwoods to Monroe County were David and Sarah (Quesenberry) Chitwood, and they came in 1828. So it would have been hard for there to be an 1809 burial for them. Do you know what the earliest burial at Unionville is?

Take care,
