After looking at a 1931 plat book and finding my great grandfather John Pennel owned land near De Soto Wisconsin, that got me hooked on researching my family line. I also love walking through cemeteries,so I decided to take pictures for other families. It's like finding treasure when I find a grave marker. The old cemeteries are the ones that I don't want forgotten. Some are in bad shape, and I try hard to get the name off the old stones. Sometimes I have to dig the grass that has grown over the old marker, when there is just a small piece showing. It's so rewarding when I find a name. When I read some of the letters it's like a puzzle to figure who it is. I love the challenge. On find a grave I meet relatives that I never knew and we work together researching our families. Find A Grave is a wonderful place.
