Please contact me if you would like to have control of a memorial page that I have added to Find-A-Grave that is your family. When I go to cemeteries to take pictures for people as a volunteer, I will take many more than asked just in case they belong to the same family of the ones I am taking a picture of!

My Bio:

Late bloomer to genealogy! It sure is a fun hobby! Began looking for my roots in July 2001. I have come a long way and found some awesome information about my family.

My oldest child, a son, died in 2003 and I found this site to place his memorial page. He was only 36 when he died, and it comforts me to know that he will live on when people read about him on Find-A-Grave!

Arthur Family
The Arthurs, buried in Riverside Cemetery-Wichita Falls ,Texas are related to me. William Goodman was my gg grandfather. He was the father of James -my g grandfather-who stayed in Va. and is buried just a few miles from me. His son John Barnabus was my grandfather. His daughter Louise Arthur married Robert Brickey (my parents).I have done extensive research on the Arthur family.William Goodman first married Talathia James who died in 1866-1867 in Franklin County, Va .He married Fannie Poteet in 1870.William had William T.,John Barnabas ,Susan Jennie Arthur Cheshire with Talatha. Nannie and Georgia were children he had with Fannny. Thanks for the work you do with Find A Grave.I spoke to a lady in Wichita Falls, who was very kind and went to Riverside years ago and took photos of the graves for me.I am so sure I have had contact with you many years ago.Your name is so familiar.I have marriage cert. for Fannie and William.I have records from Franklin County Courthouse for William and Talitha.I also have photos of William ,his children etc. According to Personal Property Tax records William left Franklin County by 1886

Connection between Garner and McWhorter
Hello - based on my research I think Fannie A McWhorter and Mary Lee Garner were sisters. They were the daughters of Butler Garner and Mary F. Bars Garner. Hope that helps.

Mary Lee Garner
Birth: Aug. 13, 1898
Death: Aug. 22, 1974

Mary Lee Garner's grave is beside Fannie A McWhorter. Because the stones are so similar, I am wondering if they are mother and daughter. Same design, Same granite, but Fannie's is larger than Mary Lee's.

RE: Pisgah Cemetary
Hi Dale,

I didn't mean to create a ruckus. My grandfather is buried in Pisgah and I know exactly where it is. I just thought it was something you could change easily. It is not a big deal and no worry. I appreciate what you have done.

Best to you,

Pisgah Cemetary
The directions to Pisgah Cemetery should be:

Directions: From Palestine, TX drive north on Farm Road 315. At the community of Brushy Creek turn west (left) on Farm Road 837 and you will see the cemetery on the north (right) side of the road.

Note: On the south (left) side of the road you will see the old Brushy Creek arbor, the site of an annual Homecoming.
