Thank you so much for the photo, will scan and share with family in Florida and here. If there is anything you need in Washington or near by just let me know, am great with local areas and researching here. Have years of experience chasing family in the Pacific Northwest, WA, OR, ID and Montana. Thank you again - Anita

Hi Shawn, you suggested an edit to change Emma's birth name to "Skagerberg". The current name comes from her death certificate (not proof but the only document I have). Could you give me something that confirms her birth name? Thanks, Charlie

I saw your photo for Lydia, do you have a birthdate by any chance. My husband is a descendant of the Winebrenner clan. Thank you, Anita

Wow, what are the chances? :)
Actually, my family came through Margaret's brother Henry E Garland. My cousin did a tree tracing in 1992 and I never gave it much thought, until I realized we didn't know much about my paternal grandmother's side, or my own mother's family, and they are now all gone, including the cousin who started the tree. I'm 62, so I thought if I don't do it now, who will?
Once I got my framework established, I started working on the few unknowns my cousin had. He couldn't find out much about Samuel, did not have any info on Margaret (he put her in as Peggy and I don't know how he got that much), and a Betsy is also listed, but no dates. Perhaps the records will be under Elizabeth. He had to do all his by going to the source of the paper records, God bless him!
So now, I'm just loving doing the research and coming up with the "story". If you need/want any information, so far I'm filling in the gaps back to Henry and Mary Ann Kellerman Garland. The Woomer tie is very interesting; I have been to the Woomer cemetery on what was once the Irvin farm (now the Starr farm) as a child and was happy to find those headstones documented on line. What a big family we have! Thanks so much for looking for what is written on Samuel's headstone.

Thanks so much for the many efforts you put forth to document graves in the Bald Eagle Cemetery.
Samuel Garland is in my family line. I have tried to enlarge the photo of his stone to see what is carved below the dates. Are you able to make out what it says using your original photo?

I doubt there is anything on the other side of the headstone. However, I found an obit for David R. Shannon that said his late wife was Alice. I found a funeral bill on Ancestry that says his mother was Margaret Ramsey and father was William. Daughter L. Hunter paid for funeral. Hope that helps.
I moved his picture to the memorial you want to keep; the other memorial can now be deleted. As an FYI, I just updated Riverview Cemetery, more than doubling its numbers, you may be able to find other records of family members. Thanks for all your assistance for Find A Grave - it is good to connect family members.

The picture at the memorial I created for Jacob is not my picture. I recommend you go to the owner of that photo and ask her to transfer it to your memorial. I will then delete the memorial that I posted in error.

I have the obit for Elbert and would be happy to put all of his obit in if you would be so kind to transfer to me. He was buried in Maple Hill Cemetery, Fairfield County.
Thank you in advance.
