If you want a quick response to your photo request please provide a plot location. I take photos at Home of Peace, Calvary, Resurrection, Mt Zion, Los Angeles Oddfellows, Agudath Achim, Beth Israel, Evergreen, cemeteries and some others in the L.A. area and San Gabriel Valley upon request (email me). Folks please try and verify that the person you are requesting a photo for is actually in the cemetery listed. Too many times I've showed up at a cemetery and the person that the photo request is for, is not even interred at that cemetery. Each cemetery page usually has a phone number. Try calling it to verify that your loved one is there!|

Thanks for looking into the Walter Hastings at Evergreen Cemetery. I did learn that the Walter I was looking for was buried at Montecito Memorial Park in Colton so I will follow up there. ”HASTINGS In Fontana, Calif., Dec. 28, 1951. Walter Vern Hastings. 70. native of Northville, Mich., resident of Fontana one year, of California 50 years. Private funeral services at 10 a.m. today at Ingold's Funeral Home in Fontana. Cremation follows in Montecito Memorial Park.”

Thank you so much! I am waiting for info from the cemetery to find out who purchased her stone. I'm shocked she had such a nice one.

Hi again Larry,
We're with you on the need for rain! We've been in a drought situation for a couple of years. The stone walls, cellar holes, mill sluices, tree stumps, original brooks & streams, etc. from the villages that were taken in the early 20th cent. to build the present reservoir have been above water for a couple years now & there's lots of herbaceous growth starting to fill-in where once there was water.
Snow is OK for Christmas but it isn't appreciated now. And it doesn't provide much water. 10" snow only = 1" of rain, assuming it all melted & soaked in but it doesn't. When the ice/frost is in the ground, some melting goes into the rivers & streams but just as much or more, goes into the storm drain systems & eventually into the ocean. More moisture is lost to evaporation from the snow surface, too.
For all the havoc snow storms create on our roads & money they cost the taxpayers, we don't get as much water for the aquifer & reservoir as we do from a good soaking rain storm. Bracing for another snow storm tomorrow but hoping it tracks further off the coast so we are in the 0 - coating category.
Hoping for some wet weather here once things warm up & I hope you get some much needed rain out your way, too.
