A cemetery is not a place just to bury the dead. It should be a sacred place for quiet reflection, peace, tranquility, honor, and remembrance. It is a history of people and a perpetual record of yesterday.|
Love begins with a smile...grows with a kiss...and ends with a teardrop....
I will not use chalk, shaving cream, brake fluid or any other potentially harmful methods to enhance the inscriptions. Please do not use these on any photo requests I make, Thank you so very much.
Although FINDAGRAVE can be very useful for genealogy, FINDAGRAVE as the name implies is a grave registration site not a genealogy site. I try to use this as my guide when on this site.
I will NOT add a link to a burial unknown memorial, because I am still actively looking for where the person is actually buried. This site is named Find a GRAVE for a reason.
Please do not request to add a birth date calculated from the gravestone, unless the complete age is known or listed (y/m/d). Dates that do not agree with the gravestone will be placed in the bio section. Thank You.
I, Gary Boughton, give you permission to use any photo I have taken, if you are kind enough to give me credit for the photo, Thank You. (Everyone likes to recognized for their effort) Thanks Again.

I'd be happy to transfer. Tell me, are you related (as your name implies)? I am related to Sylvester's Wife. Her name was Ellen "Nellie" Barnes Boughton. Do you have any information on her or Sylvester that you would be willing to share? Thanks!

|Richard S. Clark||Wonderful photo - Thank you!|
A picture truly is worth a thousand words! I sincerely appreciate your new photos of the headstones for Amos Hoy and Abigail (Ferry) Barnum; they died just 6 days apart. Buried next to each other, it appears they may be son-in-law / mother-in-law. I readily found a family group sheet that did list Abigail as having a daughter Naomi, but no details were given for Naomi. This is looking so promising! Also, thanks for the memorial transfer of Amos; it is most appreciated.

I'm always happy to see the information used rather than just pushed off into obscurity!

Hello Gary: I believe we are connected by way of the Rawsons. My Foster Grandfather was Porter Benson Rawson (107017628), nephew to Lella Rawson Boughton (36892986) by way of her brother, Charles Hall Rawson (5332723), and first cousin to Bertha A Boughton Beebe. My family while on a vacation to New York state met Mrs. Beebe in about 1957. She was very gracious and invited us into her home in Victor and showed us many albums of retro-pictures. She kept in touch with her cousin over the years and even wrote his obituary for the local paper. If this leads to more curiosity about our respective families, I would be happy to share.

Hi, My sister bought the book by Verna Bouton on a trip to VA/TN several years ago...I assume in one of those states. However, much of the info was inaccurate. Although interesting, I cannot vouch for the info below; it seems reliable, but I did not check out all the sources--It was obtained from another person's research. Hope you find this helpful.

I am related through his wife via the Chambers family. You might inquire of Harriet the creator of the memorial. She has much knowledge on the families of that area of TN.
Sorry to be of no help.
Memorial# 175075904 _ I just added her Gary - thought this might be of interest to you...Donna aka lulu
