|Bio and Links|
One of the best features of Find A Grave is that it provides a forum where years of genealogical research can be shared with others. Please let me know if you have additional biographical or statistical information for any of my memorials, as it is always welcome. The wealth of knowledge that others have sent to me through Find A Grave is astounding. |
If you are aware of links for parents and/or spouses that I have not yet added, I would appreciate it if you would use the edit tab to leave the name and memorial number of the person or people who should be linked.
Thanks to all those who have generously shared your family stories and beautiful photos with me. I sincerely appreciate being allowed to add them to the memorials for your loved ones. The pictures and studio portraits that for years have been carefully preserved in family photo albums, add such a wonderful dimension to Find A Grave. They help create a memorial tribute that is all the more special and meaningful.
Before asking for a memorial transfer, please determine whether or not this is really necessary. Transfers of management should only be requested if you have extensive changes to make to a memorial. You can add photos and suggest corrections even if you are not the memorial manager. Simply having someone in your family tree is not grounds for a transfer request. It would be impossible for all contributors to manage their entire family trees.
Transfers will only be considered if they comply strictly with Find A Grave guidelines. You must state your exact relationship to the deceased. People who request transfers and then fail to improve and maintain the memorial are certainly not honoring the memory of their family member.
Bulk surname transfers will not be considered under any circumstances.
Unless otherwise noted, all bios on my memorials were researched and written by me. Post-1922 verbatim obituaries have not been included in order to avoid copyright violations.
I have put a lot of time and effort into my memorials on Find A Grave. I strive to make sure that the information on them is as accurate as possible, but I am realistic and know that mistakes do happen. Please use the edit tab to leave a message regarding any errors or omissions that need to be corrected.
By working together, we can continue to build Find A Grave into a better and better site!
Note: 30 Sep 2013 marked a very sad day for all Find A Grave contributors when the founder of this website sold us out to ancestry.com.
I will continue to add to and maintain my memorials as long as Find A Grave remains a completely free website, open to all without charge.

Thanks for all your help
|William Besaw||Location of Deer Plain Cemetery|
I see you took the picture of Deer Plain Cemetery, Deer Plain Rd, Grafton, Calhoun County,IL
Is it located in the trees to the east of the southeast end of Deer Plain Road (east of the junction of Deer Plain Road & Meyer Ln)?

... for your updates to the Gotsch/Vorderstrasse/Poggemoeller families. I copied some of the entries a few years ago. You have obviously done research at Salem Black Jack for baptisms, etc. Your format for information is very helpful. Excellent work!

I 100% agree with keeping the McDaniels linked as Mary Elizabeth's parents. Even though the Woolleys are her biological parents, the leading events of Susan's commitment happened when she was only 10 months old.
For all purposes the McDaniels would be the only family that she would have known. I will update Susan's memorial to include a link in the bio to Mary Elizabeth's page.
I haven't confirmed yet, but I may be making another trip to Ohio in May. If I do, I will definitely head to New Straitsville to see if I can find William's stone.
I'll be in touch if I learn anything new and will be sure to keep you posted if I find out anything about GG Grandpa Jeff.
|Tony Allegra||William Porter (#143719516)|
I've found a copy of William Porter's death certificate. Evidence this week surfaced on Susan and Mary Catharine Miller's mother which led me back on the hunt for what happened to this family.
William died May 30th, 1934 in Columbus. He was buried at New Straitsville on June 1st.
I can send a copy of the death certificate or add it as a photo to the memorial, but wanted to run it by you.
I still haven't found out what happened to Susan's husband Jefferson Wooley, but I'm hopeful that every stone I turn over leads me that much closer to him.
Hope all is well.

Many thanks Lynn for your efforts on behalf of my family.
|Shannon Hodges||Margaret Camfield|
I recently purchased a beautiful postmortem photo of Margaret Berry Camfield at at antique shop in Eureka Springs, AR. It had her name and family info on the back and your photo of her grave was one of the first hits I got when I googled it. I am unsure of how this site works so I don't know if you are a relation to her or just took the photo of her grave for someone else. Regardless, I am happy to scan a copy to get it to you for her page or to get the photo to someone connected to her if possible.

Thank you for the updated material. If he is a relative of yours I would be happy to transfer his memorial to you. He is not related to me in any way.
|Ron Shrack||RE: John Neuschafer, Jr.|
I have added John's wife Mabel to his memorial page. Also have made a request to link his daughter Erma to his memorial page.
