RE: Springfield St. Cemetery
No worries.

If you have not been in the area...

Feeding Hills is a village in the Town of Agawam.

It does have it's own post office and ZIP code, but is officially within Agawam.

If Feeding Hills is not an option on the listings for the main cemetery page, then leaving it as "Agawam" is how it should be.

For any of the specific details for the Springfield Street Cemetery regarding the address and ZIP Code... Since the ZIP is unique to Feeding Hills, it should be left as Feeding Hills with the 01030 code. That is how GPS or Google Maps will locate the point address for the Springfield Street Cemetery.

Thanks for your help and willingness to update some of these minor details!

Take care.

Springfield Street Cemetery - Feeding Hills, MA
Good morning,

Regarding the Springfield Street Cemetery in Feeding Hills, MA...

The cemetery Google map is correct when the Findagrave "Map" tab is clicked.

Note associated with photos lists the incorrect address.

The correct address appears to be:

Springfield Street Cemetery
1078 Springfield Street
Feeding Hills, MA 01030

With the following GPS coordinates:
42.069015, -72.665156

It is located directly across the street from St. David's Episcopal (the modern church) Church and the Sacred Heart Catholic Church, as described.

I did figure it out, but I got to the photo and text information on the address before I got to the map tab... It was a little confusing for a few minutes.

If you have a chance to correct the photo captions with this information, that would be great.

Thank you!

Rita, I photographed every inch of the cemetery that day, it's just down the street from me. If you need anyone just let me know I will look through my pictures, if it is standing (although I did "dig up" a couple that had fallen) I will have a picture. Spent 4 or 5 hours, making sure not to miss anyone. Jim

My Burt Line
Hi Rita,

That's sad to hear about the cemetery, but I'm sure you must be right. So many rural cemeteries have fallen into disrepair. It seems most of my ancestors were farmers to. If I can ever make it out to that cemetery, I will definitely be looking around.

As for how I'm connected with the Burts, I'm connected through Edward Martin Burt(t) (and his wife, Betsy Jewett). More specifically, I'm from one of Martin's children who moved west to Wisconsin: George Henry Burtt. Most of my extended family are still in the Wisconsin/Michigan area. I'm not as close to them as I'd like to be, but my mom (a Burt) knows some family there.

Ph(o)ebe Crary
Hi Rita,

It is so sad to hear about Phebe Crary Burt's (#26616722) headstone. I am a direct descendent through the Burt line, and those headstones are such great (and usually accurate) sources of information to fill in the holes in a person's genealogy. I truly hope Phebe's headstone can be recovered. I wanted to write to thank you for creating the memorial and for maintaining it. So encouraging to know there are extended family also working to find answers.

Many thanks,

RE: Old Hampden Cem/Chaffee
Blergh... that would be you have the maiden name and spouse on one and the sons and the gravestone photo on the other. Ideally all should be on one and the duplicate memorial deleted.

Sorry for that confusion. 2 am for me and I should go to bed lol.

Thanks again,

RE: Old Hampden Cem/Chaffee
Hi Rita...

Almost... you should have received 3 separate correction requests regarding 2 memorials, one of those memorials being a duplicate memorial, but with relevant info on it. I wanted to be sure that the maiden name, and all relevant links, for the two sons and the spouse, as well as the pic of the gravestone were all on the same memorial in the end. :)

At this point, you've got the maiden name and the spouse on one memorial and the photo of the gravestones and the spousal link on the other.
